Module id number: CSS/333
--------------------------

Module name: MAGNETIC TAPE DRIVER
--------------------------------------

Actual release: 03.02 Release date: 840629
----------------------- --------------------

Previous release: 03.01 Release date: 830505
----------------------- --------------------

New facilities:
---------------

   >> V0302 <<

   - Available on MX-AMOS.
   - Support of 4K controller. (Use only unit 0, 1 or 2).
   - Performance improvement. (Especially on MX-AMOS and XAMOS systems).

Changes:
--------

   >> V0302 <<

   - At INIT, the VOLUME NAME may no longer be the name of an already
      mounted tape.
   - New layout of device description used, i.e. the device address
(not DEVPR) is given in the field IO_ADDR and the ram start
address is given in the field UNIT in the four most significant
nibbles (in units of 4K). E.g. the standard (X)AMOS controller
      configuration will have IO_ADDR = #1F and UNIT = #03C0.
However, on (X)AMOS systems, the device description is accepted
in the old layout for the standard controller configuration.
   - Label and non-label versions are now compilation options in the
      same sources.
   - Linked with EXECLEVEL = 2 again. Possible due to use of monitor
      procedures (CSS/357) for cross-page copying.
   - Completion code values changed. See FMSPARAMS.S .

   >> V0301 <<

   - This version combines the label and non-label versions.

   >> V0202 <<

   - DEASSIGN will no longer terminate the driver. The controller
      is disabled.
   - The driver will make 10 retries in case of readerror.

Errors corrected:
-----------------

   >> V0302 <<

   None.

   >> V0301 <<

   N.a.

   >> V0202 <<

   - ASSIGN with the tape transport ofline is now possible.
      CPECR 612.
   - An error after retries during write-tape is corrected.
      CPECR 497.
   - An error after the sequence MOUNT,FIND,READ,CLOSE,
      DISMOUNT,MOUNT,FIND is corrected.
   - An error after the sequence ASSIGN,MOUNT,SKIP,READ,CLOSE
      is corrected.
      CPECR 486.
   - Possible errors after the sequence REWIND,DISMOUNT
      MOUNT,FIND are corrected.
      CPECR 603 and 606.
   - Module linked with EXECLEVEL = 1 (XAMOS problem).
      CPECR 665.
   - If a tape hard error occurs during read or write
it is assumed that the tape has moved, and a
skip reverse is always performed before next try.
