«ff» ******************************************************* R E L E A S E D E S C R I P T I O N ******************************************************* Module id number: CSS/150 -------------------------- Module name: BACKUP/COMPARE ----------------------------------- Actual release: 01.09 Release date: 851023 ----------------------- -------------------- Previous release: 01.08 Release date: 840501 ----------------------- -------------------- New facilities: --------------- >> 0109 << - A new boot module now supports backup between different controllers on MX-AMOS. - Check for meaningless disk parameters. >> 0108 << - XAMOS and MXAMOS version generated. - The program now reminds the operator to depress the WRITE PROTECT button. - The program now tells the operator if one of the disk drives is not ready. Changes: -------- >> 0109 << The module has been generated with the latest versions of FMS etc. AMOS version is no longer supported. >> 0107 << Version 0301 of the prefix FMSDATA.S is included and BACKUP/COMPARE is now able to handle up to 100 bad sectors. >> 0108 << Default disk attributes: disk driver name: CDC000 device: 50 (AMOS/XAMOS) device: 99 (MXAMOS) unit: 0,1,2,3 (seclected by the user) controller ram addr: 320 (MXAMOS only) device consists of the device address inside the crate + 64*crate number. Errors corrected: ----------------- >> 0106 << CPECR DESCR ---------- ------------------------------------------------ 758 error in connection with backup/compare between 1 x SMD300 and 4 x SMD80 (the program loops). 759 the program uses default input disk attributes when default output disk attributes are specified and default input disk attributes are not. >> 0107 << The program did not check the range of the BST size. >> 0108 << If the question PLEASE MOUNT ... was answered with a < cr > the program terminated. >> 0109 << The homeblock was destroyed if the same disk was specified for both input and output. If a control character was entered, the program went into and endless loop. Reported errors, not corrected: ------------------------------- CPECRs implemented in current release: -------------------------------------- None. Comments: --------- Only the following combinations of backup/compare between hard disks of different types have been tested: - Backup/compare between 1 x CMD96F (80 MB fixed disk) and 5 x CMD96C (16 MB removeable cartridge). - Backup/compare between 1 x SMD300 and 4 x SMD80. Substitution of bad sectors is only supported for backup. Compare doesn't substitute, and will therefore not be able to detect wrong substitution. In addition, it will report differences in the substitution table.
