SCOPE

   This utility describes the function and operation of the CR80 AMOS
utility program MAKELINES (CSS/104).

FUNCTION
--------

   The program adds linenumbers to a file in a manner equivalent to the
EDITOR's.

ACTIVATION
----------


          MAKELINES I: <file id1> O: <file id2> [N: <x>[-<y>] ]


Both files must exist  beforehand and consist of text only .
The syntax of <file id> is described in [1].

The optional N parameter specifies starting linenumber <x> and
increment <y>.
    <y>  > 0 : linenumbers are written with up to four-digit, right
               justified numbers together with a ':' and a space
               to the left of each line.
    <y>  = 0 : no linenumbers

Default N:1-1  (Editor like) «a5»
