******************************************************* R E L E A S E D E S C R I P T I O N ******************************************************* Module id number: CSS/0183 -------------------------- Module name: MT_DUMP ----------------------------------- Actual release: 01.04 Release date: 850510 ----------------------- -------------------- Previous release: 01.02 Release date: 840112 ----------------------- -------------------- New facilities: --------------- MT_DUMP dumps a magtape to disk files. Use ARCHIVE (CSS/166) when tapes are labeled according to the ISO standard. Changes: -------- >> 1.4 << This version is linked with MTC version 2.3 i.e. both redundant and missing interrupts are handled. Errors corrected: ----------------- Version 1.3 was changed by the programmer before SCL took care of the module to become a program to WRITE tapes. The program is therefore released again as version 1.4 with the intended semantics of version 1.3 (Note : the harmful version of MT_DUMP is linked as version 2.0 but delivered as version 1.3 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) MX PR 18 (Redundant interrupts) Reported errors, not corrected: ------------------------------- CPECRs implemented in current release: MX PR 18 -------------------------------------- Comments: --------- The program has many parameters, all of them optional. Please refer to the User's Manual for details. The simplest invocation MT_DUMP causes the program to transfer all information between the start of the tape and two consecutive filemarks to disk files in current directory. The files are named using the letters 'TP' suffixed with a serial number starting from 1. The files may exist beforehand . If not they are created with random fileorganization and areasize 4. Current disk file is closed whenever an unexpected status is received or a filemark is sensed. Empty files are ignored by not updating the serial number i.e. reuse name of current file. «a5»
