«ff» ******************************************************* R E L E A S E D E S C R I P T I O N ******************************************************* Module id number: CSS/155 -------------------------- Module name: PATCH ----------------------------------- Actual release: 04.02 Release date: 860616 ----------------------- -------------------- Previous release: 04.01 Release date: 831130 ----------------------- -------------------- New facilities: --------------- >> V0401 << 1. Indirection: It is now possible to address indirectly by appending '@' immediately after the specified address. This will cause the address to be substituted with the content of the addressed field within the objectfile. 2. Verification: By issuing the command V <startaddress> <dataword>, the program will check whether or not the content of the field specified equals the given dataword. If not, the program will terminate with an appropriate message. Changes: -------- >> V0401 << 1. It is now optional, whether one calls the program with the old or the new invocation syntax, eg. either 'PATCH <fileid>' or 'PATCH I: <fileid>'. 2. The help menu is now displayed after every unknown command met. Errors corrected: ----------------- >> V0402 << The last byte of an file with an odd number of bytes is now displayed correctly. (PR86026) The version number is now read from the parameters to the linker. (PR86254) >> V0401 << 1. If the old invocation syntax was used, while a file I was present, this became the objectfile instead. 2. Under certain circumstances the ASCII-dump caused a termination with completion code as arithmetic overflow. Also if the number of bytes in the file was odd, and the end was dumped, the program listed an erroneus hexdump and terminated due to the same error. Reported errors, not corrected: ------------------------------- CPECRs implemented in current release: 86026, 86254. -------------------------------------- Comments: --------- Version 0401 of Patch is fully described in issue 3 of the user's manual (CSS/155/USM/0030). «a5»
