The Interkom I-4x18 is intended to fulfiul the AA requirements
for a Document Printing system according to RFP paragraph.
The system must be viewed as a replacement of the Rank
Xerox 2700 system described in the earlier versions
of the proposal (version 1.4 and older).
2̲ ̲ ̲T̲E̲C̲H̲N̲I̲C̲A̲L̲ ̲D̲E̲S̲C̲R̲I̲P̲T̲I̲O̲N̲
The attached description of the Interkom provides the
main technical features. The interface to the central
computer is via a IBM 3287 serial interface. The Interkom
has a collator attached to it.
The collator can be controlled from the central computer
through the printer, this provides for a logical addressing
of the individual copies into one of the 15 pockets.
The printer can provide up to 99 copies. No collator
exists with larger capacity, but a smaller unit with
3-4 pockets exists. The capacity of the individual
pockets of the collator is approximately 30 pages;
when the limit has been reached, the system stops.
The individual error conditions are shown on the printer,
e.g. "collator full", but are not reported to the central
computer.

Based on the information, we have on the Interkom I-4x18
with collator for 15 pockets.
