following:
5.4 C̲O̲N̲T̲I̲N̲U̲I̲T̲Y̲ ̲C̲H̲E̲C̲K̲
The continuity of traffic is checked by two meassures:
- Self addressed channel check message.
- TI continuity check (discrepancy in the TI).
CAMPS shall on each outgoing open channel transmit
to TRC or via Point-to-Point connection a self-addressed
channel check message.
On each outgoing open channels CAMPS shall expect a
self-addressed channel check message from TRC or via
Point-to-Point connection.
CAMPS shall forward an incoming abbreviated service
message, which describes traffic discontinuity on the
corresponding outgoing channel, to the Supervisor.
CAMPS shall on each incoming message check the sequence
of the Transmission Serial Number (TSN) in the Transmission
Identification (TI) of FL1 in order to ensure the continuity
of traffic per channel.
5.4.1 O̲u̲t̲g̲o̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲S̲e̲l̲f̲-̲a̲d̲d̲r̲e̲s̲s̲e̲d̲ ̲C̲h̲a̲n̲n̲e̲l̲ ̲C̲h̲e̲c̲k̲ ̲M̲e̲s̲s̲a̲g̲e̲
CAMPS shall transmit a self-addressed channel check
message on the corresponding outgoing channel, when
no transmission has been received on an open incoming
channel for a period of 30 minutes (or as determined
by the Supervisor).
CAMPS shall expect a self-addressed channel check message
back within 15 minutes counted from (EOTF) on the corresponding
incoming channel.
If the message is not received within this time of
period, then a warning report shall be forwarded to
the supervisor.
Automatic transmission of a self-addressed channel
check message is disabled, when either one or both
of a corresponding set of channels are "closed".
The format of the self-addressed channel check for
transmission on outgoing channels is:
VZCZC(TI)(5xsp)UU(EOLF)
OO(sp)(CAMPS RI)(EOLF)
DE(sp)(CAMPS RI)(sp)(SSN)(sp)(TOF)(EOLF)
ZNR(sp)UUUUU(EOLF)

5.4.2 I̲n̲c̲o̲m̲m̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲S̲e̲l̲f̲-̲a̲d̲d̲r̲e̲s̲s̲e̲d̲ ̲C̲h̲a̲n̲n̲e̲l̲ ̲C̲h̲e̲c̲k̲ ̲M̲e̲s̲s̲a̲g̲e̲
When CAMPS receives a channel check message self-addressed
to a TRC or a Point-to-Point connected station, then
CAMPS shall transmit the message back to the transmitting
station via the corresponding outgoing channel.
The format of the self-addressed channel check message
is:
VZCZC(TI)(5xsp)UU(EOLF)
OO(sp)(TRC/P-to-P RI)(EOLF)
DE(sp)(TRC/P-to-P RI)(sp)(SSN)(sp)(TOF)(EOLF)

5.4.3 T̲I̲ ̲C̲o̲n̲t̲i̲n̲u̲i̲t̲y̲ ̲C̲h̲e̲c̲k̲ ̲o̲n̲ ̲O̲u̲t̲g̲o̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲M̲e̲s̲s̲a̲g̲e̲
The responsibility for the continuity of Transmission
Serial Numbers (TSN) rests with the distant receiving
TRC's or P-to-P stations. Any discrepancies in the
TSN may cause a transmission of an abbreviated service
message, which, when received by CAMPS, will be forwarded
to the Supervisor.
5.4.4 T̲I̲ ̲C̲o̲n̲t̲i̲n̲u̲i̲t̲y̲ ̲C̲h̲e̲c̲k̲ ̲o̲n̲ ̲I̲n̲c̲o̲m̲m̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲M̲e̲s̲s̲a̲g̲e̲
CAMPS shall automatically check the sequence of Transmission
serial numbers per incoming channel. Discrepancies
shall be actioned as specified in the SRS para. 3.2.2.1.
DN 10 accepted See answer to DN 9.
DN 11 accepted See answer to DN 9.
DN 12 accepted See answer to DN 9.
DN 13 partly accepted. CR will accept to generate and transmit
a Channel Number Reset message, though
it is a new requirement. But CR will
not accept automatic generation and
detection of "ZIC" abbreviated service
message. It is up to the Supervisor
and Supervisor's assistant to take
care of these "ZIC" messages. Section
5.5 will be written as follows:
5.5 C̲H̲A̲N̲N̲E̲L̲ ̲N̲U̲M̲B̲E̲R̲ ̲R̲E̲S̲E̲T̲
Incomming and outgoing is as seen from CAMPS.
5.5.1 I̲n̲c̲o̲m̲m̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲C̲h̲a̲n̲n̲e̲l̲
CAMPS shall recognize the following abbreviated service
message on any incoming channel.
VZCZC(TI)(5xsp)UU(EOLF)
RR(sp)(CAMPS RI)(EOLF)
DE(sp)(TRC, P-to-P RI)(sp)(SSN)(sp)(TOF)(EOLF)
ZNR(sp)UUUUU(EOLF)
ZID(TI of previous message)(EOLF)
(EOTF)
CAMPS shall check the Transmission Serial Number (TSN)
and shall revert the number of the respective channel
to ONE directly after the receipt of the ZID ASM, irrespective
of either the TSN is in sequence or not.
In case of a TSN mismatch, a warning report shall be
forwarded to the Supervisor.
If on channels specified by the Supervisor, the ZID
ASM does not arrive within a period starting at 23:45
hours and ending at 00:15 hours (GMT) a warning shall
be sent to the Supervisor.
5.5.2 O̲u̲t̲g̲o̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲C̲h̲a̲n̲n̲e̲l̲
On outgoing channels specified by the Supervisor, CAMPS
shall automatically generate at 23:59 hours (GMY) the
following ASM:
VZCZC(TI)(5xsp)UU(EOLF)
RR(sp)(TRC, P-to-P RI)(EOLF)
DE(sp)(CAMPS RI)(sp)(SSN)(sp)(TOF)(EOLF)
ZNR(sp)UUUUU(EOLF)
ZID(TI of last transmitted message)(EOLF)
(EOTF)
This ASM shall bear the Transmission Serial Number
001.
DN 14 (accepted) Section 5.6 will be re-rewritten
to read as follows. (The rewritten
section is based on the suggested
changes attached to the DN.)
5.6 C̲H̲A̲N̲N̲E̲L̲ ̲C̲L̲O̲S̲I̲N̲G̲,̲ ̲O̲P̲E̲N̲I̲N̲G̲ ̲A̲N̲D̲ ̲T̲E̲S̲T̲I̲N̲G̲
It shall be possible to close, (re) open and test any
channel either by initiation of CAMPS or by TRC/P-to-P
connected stations. The sequence is specified for incoming
and outgoing channels, where incoming and outgoing
is defined as seen from CAMPS.
For message sequence see the examples in fig. 5.6-1
to 5.6-6, where channel 1 is the CAMPS incoming and
channel 2 is the corresponding CAMPS outgoing channel
from and to TRC/P-to-P stations.
The figures show the channel closing, opening and testing
sequences in 6 seperate and independent CAMPS actions.
5.6.1 G̲e̲n̲e̲r̲a̲l̲
5.6.1.1 C̲o̲n̲t̲r̲o̲l̲l̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲A̲u̲t̲h̲o̲r̲i̲t̲y̲

opening and testing of outgoing channels only (Initiated
by the distant station)
The Supervisor has the responsibility for initiating
opening and closing of incoming channels only.
5.6.1.2 D̲e̲f̲i̲n̲i̲t̲i̲o̲n̲
A connection to a TRC station or a P-to-P station consists
always of a pair of channels, i.e. corresponding outgoing
and incoming channels.
A channel shall be considered to be closed when the
channel status in the Channel Contol Table is set to
"closed" condition.
A channel shall be considered to be opened when the
channel status in the Channel Control Table is reset
from "Closed" condition.
An incoming channel is considered under test condition
covered by the time starting whith the transmission
of a QRV ASM and transmission of a ZBZ5 ASM on the
corresponding outgoing channel. An outgoing channel
is considered under test condition covered by the time
starting with the receipt of a QRV ASM and the receipt
of a ZBZ4 or ZBZ5 ASM on the corresponding incoming
channel.
5.6.1.3 C̲o̲n̲s̲t̲r̲a̲i̲n̲t̲s̲
Automatic detection and recognition of special abreviated
service messages will be limited to detection and check
of the operating prosign only except for the INT ZBZ
ASM, where the test text also will be validated.
Channel closing, opening and testing ASM shall not
change the procedure for the serial number generation
on outgoing channel and the serial number checking
on incoming channels.

the following will be made:
1. Section 1: "Crypto /modem" will be changed to
read "Crypto/low speed".
2. Section 3.1 a) The following sentence will be added:
"Speeds of 300 and 600 bps are used
on internal systems only and will not
interface with a crypto equipment."
3. Section 3.1 c) "Half duplex" will be changed to read
"full duplex or simplex".
4. Section 3.1 d) This section will be replaced by: "The
character code is either ITA no.2 or
ITA no.5"
5. Section 3.1 f) This section will be renumbered to
read 3.1 g) and a new section will
be included as 3.1 f):
"7 bit character code (ITA no.2) with
