3.2.1    C̲o̲n̲t̲r̲o̲l̲s̲

         Layout of controls shall be such as to avoid errors
         as a result of bumping, touching, or catching of clothing.

3.3.1    A̲c̲o̲u̲s̲t̲i̲c̲ ̲N̲o̲i̲s̲e̲

         Maximum sound level emitted shall be less than 70 dB
         (A) at 2 meters distance.

3.3.2    S̲a̲f̲e̲t̲y̲

         Personnel shall be protected from voltages in excess
         of 30 volts. Markings on equipment where dangerous
         voltages may be encountered. Location and construction
         of circuit breakers, switches, and fuses. Grounding.

3.3.3    V̲e̲n̲t̲i̲l̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲C̲o̲o̲l̲i̲n̲g̲

         Requirements to intake and exhaustion of cooling air.
         Air filter thickness of 2.5 cm. No deterioration of
         equipment performance caused by resonance and vibration.

         Modular hardware construction. Minimum different types
         of cables, connectors, components and accessories.
         Units and sub-assemblies shall be interchangeable without
         modification or regard to the source of manufacture.

         The equipment shall have sufficient capacity to allow
         for increase of size of control programs up to 10%.
         Definition of equipped -, wired- and connected capacity
         for each site installation.

4.2.2    E̲x̲p̲a̲n̲d̲a̲b̲i̲l̲i̲t̲y̲

         Upgrade of message traffic capacity by a maximum of
         30%.

         Possibility by addition of hardware to increase the
         number of terminals.

         Dual drive floppy disk. Each diskette shall have a
         storage capacity of 256K bytes.

4.3.7    M̲o̲d̲e̲m̲s̲ ̲f̲o̲r̲ ̲R̲e̲m̲o̲t̲e̲ ̲N̲I̲C̲S̲ ̲T̲A̲R̲E̲

         FSK modem according to CPS/ICD/004.

4.4      S̲E̲C̲U̲R̲I̲T̲Y̲ ̲R̲E̲L̲A̲T̲E̲D̲ ̲S̲Y̲S̲T̲E̲M̲ ̲D̲E̲S̲I̲G̲N̲ ̲R̲E̲Q̲U̲I̲R̲E̲M̲E̲N̲T̲S̲

         A clean architectual design where unassigned codes
         must cause a trap.

         Protection of memory program and data areas.

         Normal and privileged instructions shall exist.

         The occurrence and/or attempted execution of any illegal
         code shall be signalled and result in an abort. Key
         switches on all VDUs and MSPs. A read/write memory
         erase function feature shall be provided.

         All hardware shall be individually addressable by the
         computer.
