B.1 P̲O̲W̲E̲R̲ ̲I̲N̲P̲U̲T̲

b2) 39 stabilizer units will be supplied by 220
VAC

Non-repetive impulsive interference with a magnitude
not to exceed 500 volts, pulse rise and fall times

B.2 P̲O̲W̲E̲R̲ ̲O̲U̲T̲P̲U̲T̲
a) Each stabilizer unit shall be able to supply one
disk drive unit during start-up and operation.
b) Disk drives will be the the following two alternatives,
both produced by Control Data (CDC, Normandale division)
b1) SMD 9762, 80mb
b2) MMD 9730-80
B.3 M̲E̲C̲H̲A̲N̲I̲C̲A̲L̲ ̲D̲E̲S̲I̲G̲N̲
a) The units shall be for 19 inch rack-mounting

c) Acoustic noise level shall be controlled using best
commercial practice.
d) A fan shall be included in the unit to provide forced
cooling, when the unit is in operation
B.4 E̲N̲V̲I̲R̲O̲N̲M̲E̲N̲T̲A̲L̲ ̲C̲O̲N̲D̲I̲T̲I̲O̲N̲S̲
In designing the equipment to meet the specified requirements
no account need be taken of catastrophic events such
as fire, flood, explosion, etc., which are beyond the
control of an equipment manufacturer.
The equipment will normally operate within accomodation
suitable for the operation of similar equipment produced
for commercial use.
After initial adjustments have been made, the equipment
shall maintain normal operation under all specified
environmental and power supply conditions.
a) Temperature and humidity
The equipment shall continue to function when the
humidity and temperature of its environment are
within the ranges and cycling specified below.
The equipment shall continue to operate in a fully
satisfactory manner even under the worst conditions
specified below.
a1) Temperature
Range: 10 to 40 deg. C
Change: max. 10 deg. C per hour
a2) Humidity (relative humidity = RH)
Range: 40 to 90 per cent RH, non-condensing
Change: max. 6 per cent RH per hour, non-condensing
a3) Altitude
Range: sea level to 2000 meter
The equipment shall be so designed that the
loss of site air conditioning or heating will
not cause a catastrophic failure within 15 minutes
after the loss.
b) Dust, fumes
The equipment shall be able to operate continuously
and with normal scheduled preventive maintenance
in the following air environment:

B.5.1 P̲r̲o̲t̲e̲c̲t̲i̲v̲e̲ ̲C̲i̲r̲c̲u̲i̲t̲s̲
The stabilizer unit shall be equipped with automatic
overload protection, included short circuit and overtemperature
protection. Automatic reset upon overload and overtemperature
removal. Automatic shut-down for input overvoltage,
undervoltage.
B.5.2 F̲r̲o̲n̲t̲ ̲P̲a̲n̲e̲l̲ ̲E̲q̲u̲i̲p̲m̲e̲n̲t̲
The following features shall be provided on the front
panel:
a) Circuit breaker
b) Lamp indicating ON-condition
c) Lamp indicating shut-down due to protection circuit
Power-on light shall be green.
Shut-down light shall be red.
B.6 P̲A̲C̲K̲A̲G̲I̲N̲G̲
AC's standard container shall be used.
It is a wooden container. The unit is supported within
the container by 8 polystyrene corner blocks.
The container is re-usable at least once.
