RELIABILITY FIGURES FOR TRACOR MEDIUM
SPEED PRINTER MODEL 8000 CAMPS

The purpose of this document is to present an overall
reliability figure for the TRACOR medium speed printer
(MSP) based on the manufacturer supplied Parts List
Data.
2̲ ̲ ̲I̲N̲T̲R̲O̲D̲U̲C̲T̲I̲O̲N̲
Based on the assembly level reliability figures contained
in the manufacturer's NATO Codification and Parts List
Data, dated 02-10-82, an overall reliability figure
has been calculated.
The principle used in the calculation is that the different
assemblies contained in the MSP form a simple series
reliability model.
3̲ ̲ ̲R̲E̲L̲I̲A̲B̲I̲L̲I̲T̲Y̲ ̲F̲I̲G̲U̲R̲E̲S̲
In table 3 - 1 is shown the assembly level reliability
figures given in: TRACOR MODEL 8000 NATO CODIFICATION
AND PARTS LIST, dated 02-10-82.
The figures are calculated in accordance with MIL HDBK
217C.
By simple reciprocal summation of the tabulated MTBF
figures the reciprocal of the printer MTBF is found.
Thus,
MTBF for TRACOR 8000 MSP = 4593 hours.
