the relay function. CR agreed to deliver
the test procedures at the latest one
week after start of the 240 hours test.
The in plant verification will be executed
just after completion of the 240 hours
test, if the test procedures at that time
are approved by SHAPE.
It is emphasized that test of the relay
function is not part of the 240 hours
test, but that the relay function will
be formally tested during the functional
test.
The operational verification will take
place simulated during the 3rd period
of the operational test and live once
3 CAMPS sites are operational and interlinked.
Prior to SHAPE SPA all other related ICDs
and design documents will be updated and
sent to SHAPE for approval.

On SHAPE request, CR agreed to deliver
the SW error rate versus time throughout
the Syst I&T phase. From that point in
time when all SW has been integrated and
tested. CR will split the data into the
error categories as defined in the 240
hours test (cat. 1, 2, 3, cosmetic).
CR will deliver this information only
on an informal basis. CR stated that delivery
of MDSD or calculation of the MDSD is
not part of the contractual deliveries.
In reply SHAPE referred to the acceptance
test plan 4.6.5 last clause and CAMPS
System Requirements 4.2.2.2d.
SHAPE requires that these data shall be
used as a parameter for reliability prediction
and wants to know, how CR intends to calculate
the MDSD probability. CR stated that in
line with MOM 39, item 10, CR will deliver
the methods and results of the calculation
2 days before the start of the 240 hours
test.
8. V̲e̲r̲i̲f̲i̲c̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲M̲a̲i̲n̲t̲e̲n̲a̲n̲c̲e̲ ̲P̲r̲o̲c̲e̲d̲u̲r̲e̲s̲
SHAPE proposes that CR representative,
in cooperation with SHAPE's RST, shall
verify procedures in the Maintenance Manual.
This activity will take place at SHAPE.
CR in principle agrees to allocate manpower
resources, max. duration 1 week, and will
inform SHAPE of schedule and furhter planning
details. The mutually agreed errors and
omissions will be incorporated in the
Maintenance Manual.
9. N̲a̲v̲s̲o̲n̲a̲r̲ ̲Q̲u̲o̲t̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲
Ref: CAMPS tlx. 1040.
The quotation validity date is extended
until 1st February 1984.
10. M̲e̲r̲d̲a̲n̲ ̲G̲r̲o̲u̲p̲ ̲I̲n̲c̲.̲ ̲S̲u̲p̲p̲o̲r̲t̲
Ref: Let. 84-3135 dated 12th January.
CR stated that the level of work caused
by the request in the referenced letter
was undefined. CR agreed to support the
Merdan Group Inc. with information, if
the work level is limited to a half-day
meeting at CR.
11. S̲i̲t̲e̲ ̲L̲e̲v̲e̲l̲ ̲D̲a̲t̲a̲b̲a̲s̲e̲
Actually the site data are on input sheets
in card image format. SHAPE and CR decided
that the most efficient way could be found
to load the site data on CAMPS, among
the 3 alternatives.
1. Using punched cards.
2. Using a disk pack.
3. Convert punched cards into tape.
CR and SHAPE agreed that a "dry run" of
the procedure for forwarding the site
level database should be executed within
2 weeks. The "dry run" should be:
a. SHAPE forwards punched cards for one
site to CR.
b. CR transfers the punched card to magnetic
tape at CR.
c. The site level database is controlled
and verified with the validation program
at CR. SHAPE will be provided a list
of inconsistencies.
SHAPE is willing to try to use the CAMPS
system at SHAPE to store data for one
site on to a disk pack. The disk pack
will then be sent to CR, the data will
be loaded on CAMPS and a list of inconsistences
will be provided by CR to SHAPE. CR will
provide SHAPE the disk pack and the necessary
support software to input and store the
data.
After these two trials, CR and SHAPE will
define which is the most suitable way
to load the site data on to the CAMPS
system.
The schedule shall be:
Week 5: SHAPE will send punched cards
for a big site (if possible by
courier).
SHAPE will return by telex responding
on the feasability to use the
disk solution.
Week 6: CR will convert punched cards
into tape and generate a database
(including validation) and return
result to SHAPE.
SHAPE will to the best of their
ability try to produce a tape
on the same site data and submit
it to CR.
12. T̲R̲W̲ ̲D̲a̲t̲a̲ ̲D̲i̲s̲c̲l̲o̲s̲u̲r̲e̲
SHAPE had no status on this issue as requested
in the previous progress minutes.
13. P̲a̲y̲m̲e̲n̲t̲s̲
CR is constantly seeing delay in payments
of our substantial amount of money. CR,
therefore, insist on close this issue
within the month of January 1984.
14. T̲R̲W̲ ̲v̲i̲s̲i̲t̲ ̲t̲o̲ ̲C̲R̲
CR welcomed that a TRW engineer from the
certification team visited CR to get technical
clarification and information.
16. J̲a̲c̲q̲u̲e̲s̲ ̲W̲e̲l̲l̲e̲k̲e̲n̲s̲ ̲P̲a̲r̲t̲i̲c̲i̲p̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲ ̲o̲n̲ ̲R̲S̲T̲3̲
̲C̲o̲u̲r̲s̲e̲
SHAPE requested that JW should attend
2 x 2 weeks of RST Course No. 3.
SHAPE will forward a list of subjects
which is needed for the student.
CR shall provide a schedule for 2 x 2
weeks of the training which shall include
as much as possible of the subjects defined
by the SHAPE message to CR.
17. S̲t̲u̲d̲e̲n̲t̲s̲ ̲o̲n̲ ̲R̲S̲T̲3̲ ̲C̲o̲u̲r̲s̲e̲
Reference: CPS/101/tlx/1113.
CR raised the notice to SHAPE (please
refer to the last item in referenced telex)
regarding the performance of two students
on the RST3 Course. It is CR's opinion
that the students will not be able to
pass the course with a result satisfying
the requirements. However, CR is willing
to let the students remain on the course,
but will teach the course in accordance
with normal student capability.
SHAPE will investigate the situation with
the host nations.
18. T̲r̲a̲i̲n̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲a̲t̲ ̲N̲C̲S̲-̲L̲a̲t̲i̲n̲a̲
SHAPE has informed CR that according to
NCS instructors it will not be possible
to conduct the training at NCS by NCS
instructors subsequent to MT9, mainly
because of insufficient hands-on experience
with the total system.
CR suggested the following solution:
- SPA of NCS-Latina is advanced to immediately
after SPA of Site 1, and instead of
one CR-instructor conducting the 7
weeks MT9 course, CR will send two
instructors for 4 weeks to tutor the
NCS instructors in use of the equipment
and its repair, and solve all training
issues applicable within this timeframe.
This takes place after SPA of the
site.
- When the CR-instructors have left
NCS, the NCS- instructors will have
the time up to MT9 to become familiar
with the system in detail.
- NCS-instructors will then do the MT9
course alone.
SHAPE will investigate the suggestion
and reply CR. If SHAPE finds the suggestion
in order, CR shall provide a schedule
for the implementation.
A possible outcome of the suggestion
is that it may be necessary to postpone
the depot level training at CR to
obtain instructor availability to
do as suggested.
SHAPE will investigate this possibility
and answer CR.
19. P̲r̲e̲f̲o̲r̲m̲a̲t̲t̲e̲d̲ ̲M̲e̲s̲s̲a̲g̲e̲s̲
CR will implement for the inplant SW test
the six preformatted messages already
delivered in December 1982. In order to
provide more background information SHAPE
provide CR with additional documentation
as follows:
1) A Dat P-3 Vol 2-5
2) ACE Directive 80-50 Vol 3 (ACE-REP)
Before the Operational Test CR and SHAPE
will use the tools for preformatted message
production to generate and include in
an operational system a number of messages
chosen from the above documents.
20. S̲R̲S̲/̲I̲C̲D̲ ̲U̲p̲d̲a̲t̲e̲ ̲-̲ ̲E̲C̲P̲ ̲3̲8̲
CR pointed out that it is urgent to review
these updates as they form the baseline
for the acceptance testing.
SHAPE is willing to continue to be cooperative
and intends to review these updates as
soon as possible.
21. 2̲4̲0̲ ̲H̲o̲u̲r̲ ̲T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲P̲r̲o̲c̲e̲d̲u̲r̲e̲s̲ ̲(̲C̲P̲S̲/̲T̲P̲R̲/̲0̲0̲7̲)̲
CAMPS log 1559 was reviewed and discussed
as follows:
a) No disagreement.
b) Preformatted messages.
The six examples of preformatted messages
provided by SHAPE will be used as
follows:

c) User Deletion of messages
A message is stored by SAR after termination
of the Prepare New Message transaction
by selection of either Release or
Coordinate in format A3. This stored
First Draft can be retrieved but not
altered in any way. It is therefore
not in a stage of preparation and
thus cannot be deleted by the user.
d) ECP 38 presented to SHAPE for review
(see item 20) contains proposals for
procedural changes in supervisory
message handling functions. TPR/007
is consistent with these proposed
changes.
22. L̲o̲a̲d̲ ̲T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲D̲e̲m̲o̲n̲s̲t̲r̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲S̲R̲S̲ ̲R̲e̲q̲u̲i̲r̲e̲m̲e̲n̲t̲s̲
CR explained to SHAPE how the performance
requirements of SRS para 3.4.1 are to
be verified during in plant SW test. The
following agreement was reached:
1) Para 3.4.1.2-5 will be verified as
defined in MOM 20 para 22.
2) Para 3.4.1.6 timing requirements will
be verified using a special test set-up.
SHAPE shall await the Technical note
defining the test set up.
3) Para 3.4.1.7 cannot all be verified
through the DSMT HW test and FAT site
1-16. In particular para 3.4.1.7 will
be verified by outgoing data declarations.
4) Para 3.4.1.8-10 can be verified as
defined in MOM 20 para 22.
23. B̲a̲n̲k̲ ̲G̲u̲a̲r̲a̲n̲t̲e̲e̲ ̲o̲n̲ ̲C̲A̲M̲P̲S̲

APPENDIX A
************
6.2 T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲C̲L̲O̲C̲K̲
6.2.1 G̲e̲n̲e̲r̲a̲l̲
A single reference test clock shall be
provided in the test room with a visible
start/stop mechanism. The clock shall
be started and stopped in accordance with
the test criteria outlined below. In addition,
3 independent test logs shall be provided,
one by error category.
6.2.2 C̲l̲o̲c̲k̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲L̲o̲g̲ ̲B̲e̲h̲a̲v̲i̲o̲u̲r̲ ̲f̲o̲r̲ ̲a̲n̲ ̲E̲r̲r̲o̲r̲
̲O̲c̲c̲u̲r̲r̲a̲n̲c̲e̲
The following rules shall apply in accordance
with enclosure 1.:
(1) The test clock reflects the accumulated
test time which is passed without
exceeding the allowable error rate.
The test clock shall be reset when
the maximum allowable number of errors
in any category has been exceeded.
The test clock shall always be reset
to the time of the first time the
maximum allowable errors for that
category is attained. This means that
the test clock is always in line with
the worst test log.
(2) T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲L̲o̲g̲ ̲ ̲2̲4̲0̲ ̲h̲o̲u̲r̲s̲
Each test log shall be reset when
the maximum allowable number of errors
is exceeded. The test log shall always
be reset to the time of the max. allowable
number of errors in the logged category.
(3) Test Log 240 hours for one or 2 categories
but not a̲l̲l̲ ̲t̲h̲e̲ ̲3̲.̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲
̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲
a) When, for one category, more than
240 hours of operation is logged
then this will be taken into account
in incrementing the time to which
the test log is reset.
b) Formula to reset the log:
If A = time of max.allowable
# of errors.
B = time of operation
exceeding 240 hours
without error.
C(n) = time which to reset
the log after any
B has occurred
n = # of errors after
240 hours.
First time of occurrence:
C (1) = A + B
After:
C(n) = C (n-1) + (??
c) These formulas are valid with
the restriction that the reset
point of a log never approaches
a point nearer than 208 hours
of the test clock. This means
that the last 32 hours of the
in-plant test must be executed
error free.
