4.1 G̲E̲N̲E̲R̲A̲L̲
The following step by step installation procedure contains
a detailed instruction set of how to install the CR
delivered computer racks, frequency stabilizer, supervisory
positions, maintenance position, and user terminals.
The major tasks of the installation sequence are:

Throughout the installation instruction, references
are made to the AB-Drawings (Appendix A) and the CAMPS
Hardware Breakdown/Hardware Tree (Doc. CPS/SDS/017).
4.2 M̲E̲C̲H̲A̲N̲I̲C̲A̲L̲ ̲R̲A̲C̲K̲ ̲A̲S̲S̲E̲M̲B̲L̲Y̲
4.2.1 U̲n̲p̲a̲c̲k̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲R̲a̲c̲k̲s̲
a) Each of the 7 EMI racks for the main site are separately
packed in the original wooden container. The racks
should remain packed during site internal transportation
and only be unpacked close to the installation
site, but if the space along the access route is
limited, the racks can be unpacked before transportation
to the installation site. The racks are unpacked
as follows:
b) Remove the top cover of the wooden container by
demounting the 3 EA 1/4 x 2 1/2" bolts on each
side of the container and the 4EA 1/2 - 13 x 2"
bolts, one in each top corner (see Figure 4.1).
c) The 4 walls of the container are removed by loosening
the 21 EA 1/4 x 2 1/2" bolts on each short side.
d) The rack is bolted to the container bottom in each
corner by a 1/2 - 13 x 2 1/2" bolt.
e) These bolts are removed from under the container
bottom.

4.2.2 T̲r̲a̲n̲s̲p̲o̲r̲t̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲ ̲t̲o̲ ̲I̲n̲s̲t̲a̲l̲l̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲ ̲S̲i̲t̲e̲
a) After unpacking, the front and rear door of the
racks must be removed. Check that serial numbers
in
the racks correspond to the serial numbers of the
doors.
b) Be careful not to damage the gaskets of the doors.
c) Depending on means of transportation, 4 eyelets
can be mounted in the top of the rack in the position
of the removed 4 EA 1/2 - 13 x 2" bolts.
d) 5 terminal tables out of the CR delivered 15 tables
are moved into the CAMPS area for the maintenance
and supervisor positions.
e) The FREQ Stabilizer and the storage cabinet are
moved into the CAMPS area.
f) All terminals (28 VDU and 11 MSP) are distributed
to their respective installation sites, unpacked
and the empties removed.
4.2.3 R̲e̲m̲o̲v̲a̲l̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲U̲p̲p̲e̲r̲ ̲C̲r̲a̲t̲e̲s̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲D̲-̲F̲a̲n̲s̲
a) To get access for bolting the single racks into
3 bay and 4 bay units, the upper crate in B, C
and E must be removed.
b) Dismount all connected front and rear cables.
c) Dismount the power cables on the rear side of the
M-fan in rack B and C.
Loosen the 4 6mm front screws and pull out the
fan units from the front of the racks.
d) Loosen the 8 (M-crate) and 4 (S-crate) 6mm front
screws and pull out the crates by the handles from
the front of the racks.

4.2.4 R̲e̲m̲o̲v̲a̲l̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲M̲a̲i̲n̲ ̲S̲w̲i̲t̲c̲h̲e̲s̲
a) To get access for bolting the rack in the bottom,
the main switches in rack B, C, E, F, and G must
be removed.
b) Dismount the power cables and the ground wire on
the rear side of the main switches.
c) Loosen the 4 6mm front screws and pull out the
main switches from the front of the racks.
4.2.5 M̲o̲u̲n̲t̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲L̲e̲v̲e̲l̲l̲e̲r̲s̲
The 4 levellers are mounted from under the racks two
by two, by tilting the racks (see AB drawing 115)
The levellers are mounted to a distance of approx.
20 mm between the bottom of the rack and the floor.
4.2.6 M̲o̲u̲n̲t̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲G̲a̲s̲k̲e̲t̲s̲
a) To secure a correct shielding between the racks,
gasket strips must be mounted before bolting the
racks into 3 or 4 BAY units. See fig. 4.2. The
gaskets, having pressure sensitive tape adhesive,
must be applied at room temperature as follows:
b) Clean the mounting surface of old glue, if necessary,
with a laquer thinner (acetone or tri-chlorethylene).
c) Cut and trim the gasket strip with scissors.
d) Peel off the protective paper backing.
e) Be sure that the strip is in correct position and
then press down firmly.
4.2.7 L̲e̲v̲e̲l̲l̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲B̲o̲l̲t̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲R̲a̲c̲k̲s̲
C̲A̲U̲T̲I̲O̲N̲: Before tightening the bolts, check that
all gaskets between the racks are
undamaged.
a) The racks are aligned one by one to allow the 1/4-20
x 7/8 LG bolts to pass through the frames of the
cabinets.
b) The single racks A, B, and C are bolted together
to form the 3-bay processor rack assembly.
c) The single racks D, E, F, and G are bolted together
to form the 4-bay line termination rack assembly
(for details ref. AB drawings 110/115).
d) When all bolts are placed (24 bolts between each
pair of racks), the bolts are to be tightened on
opposite sides, alternatively, starting at opposite
ends of the corresponding sides.
C̲A̲U̲T̲I̲O̲N̲:̲ A min. of 50 mm space must be kept between
rack C and rack D.
e) When all bolts have been tightened, the levellers
must again be adjusted to ensure equal distribution
of the floor load.
f) For adjusting the floor levellers use a pipe wrench.
Grip around the lower part of the leveller and
turn it clockwise until the levellers tighten against
the floor.
g) To check that the racks are true to spirit level,
use the spirit leveller on top of the racks.
Readjust if necessary.
4.2.8 M̲o̲u̲n̲t̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲P̲o̲w̲e̲r̲ ̲L̲i̲n̲e̲ ̲F̲i̲l̲t̲e̲r̲s̲ ̲R̲a̲c̲k̲ ̲A̲,̲ ̲B̲,̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲E̲
a) Place the power line filter (PLF) below the two
knockouts in the top of the rack (see AB drawing
121 in appendix A).
The 2 1/2" male adaptor, welded to the PLF, must
be inserted through the left hand knockout
b) Place the tightening nut from the outside of the
EMI rack.
c) Insert the 2 1/2" to 1 1/2" reducing bushing through
the right hand knockout into the PLF.
d) Mount the 1 1/2" steel tube into the reducing bushing.
It is very important to the shielding effectiveness
that the fittings are fully tightened.
4.2.9 R̲e̲m̲o̲u̲n̲t̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲U̲p̲p̲e̲r̲ ̲C̲r̲a̲t̲e̲s̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲M̲-̲f̲a̲n̲s̲
a) The upper crates of rack B and C are reinserted
and tightened by the 8 x 6mm front screws.
b) The M-fans of rack B and C are reinserted and tightened
by the 4 x 6mm front screws.
c) The TDX crate of rack E, is reinserted and tightened
by the 4 x 6mm front screws.
All removed signal cables are to be reinstalled during
step 4.6, and the power cables during step 4.8.
4.2.10 R̲e̲m̲o̲u̲n̲t̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲M̲a̲i̲n̲ ̲S̲w̲i̲t̲c̲h̲e̲s̲
a) The main switches are reinserted from the front
of the racks and tightened by the 4 x 6mm front
screws.
b) Reconnect the ground wires to the panel mounting
rails.
The internal power cables are to be reinstalled during
step 4.8.
4.3 INSTALLATION OF EXTERNAL POWER CABLES AND MOUNTING
OF C̲O̲N̲D̲U̲I̲T̲S̲.̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲
̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲
C̲A̲U̲T̲I̲O̲N̲
BEFORE TERMINATING THE EXTERNAL POWER CABLES, ENSURE
THAT THE MAIN CIRCUIT BREAKER IN THE CAMPS PDB IS DISCONNECTED.
4.3.1 F̲r̲e̲q̲u̲e̲n̲c̲y̲ ̲S̲t̲a̲b̲i̲l̲i̲z̲e̲r̲
a) Mount the 3 frequency stabilizers from the front
of the rack. The frequency stabilizers are tightened
each by the 8 6mm front screws.
b) Connect the groundwire between the panel mounting
rail and the tagblock TB2 (chassis GND) on the
rear of the frequency stab. (See CAMPS H/W breakdown
page 344).
c) Connect the internal power cables W 501-506 according
to the CAMPS H/W breakdown page 349.
d) Mount the 1 1/2" steel tube and the outer nut from
the top/outside of the rack (see AB drawing 122).
Tighten the steel tube by the inner nut.
Mount the 48mm PVC flexible conduit over the 1
1/2" steel tube and tighten it by the clamp.
e) The other end of the conduit is inserted in the
cable tray above the rack.
f) Power cables Nos. 0, 2, 4, 00, 22 and 44 are pulled
through the conduit into the stabilizer.
g) The cables are dismantled and mounted with cable
shoes.
h) Terminate the cables to the tagblocks of the By-pass
switch panel according to AB drawing no. 122.
For better access to the rear side of the by-pass switch
panel, remove the side panels of the rack.
4.3.2 P̲o̲w̲e̲r̲ ̲C̲a̲b̲l̲e̲s̲ ̲R̲a̲c̲k̲ ̲A̲
a) Mount the 1 1/2" steel tube through the outer nut
and washer into the metallic cable duct above rack
A. Fasten the steel tube by the inner nut from
inside the cable duct (see AB drawing no. 121,
appendix A).
b) The 48 mm metallic conduit is mounted on the fittings
of the J-box (metallic cable duct) and the power
line filter and tightened by the 4 clamps.
c) Power cables Nos. 00, 22 and 44 together with the
insolated ground wire are pulled through the cable
inlet into the power line filter (see AB drawing
121, appendix A).
d) For access to the PLF, remove the metallic cover
fastened by 4 screws during transportation. Remaining
26 screws are shipped attached to the inside wall
of PLF. The cables and the ground wire are dismantled
and terminated with cable shoes. For details of
the connection to the terminal board ref. AB drawing
121, appendix A).
4.3.3 P̲o̲w̲e̲r̲ ̲C̲a̲b̲l̲e̲s̲ ̲R̲a̲c̲k̲ ̲B̲
Repeat step 4.3.2 for power cables No. 6, 7, 8 and
the insolated ground wire in rack B, Power Line Filter.
4.3.4 P̲o̲w̲e̲r̲ ̲C̲a̲b̲l̲e̲s̲ ̲R̲a̲c̲k̲ ̲E̲
Repeat step 4.3.2 for power cables no. 66, 77, 88 and
the insolated ground wire in rack E, Power Line Filter.
4.4 I̲N̲S̲T̲A̲L̲L̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲ ̲O̲F̲ ̲E̲X̲T̲E̲R̲N̲A̲L̲ ̲S̲I̲G̲N̲A̲L̲ ̲C̲A̲B̲L̲E̲S̲ ̲A̲N̲D̲ ̲M̲O̲U̲N̲T̲I̲N̲G̲

4.4.1 R̲a̲c̲k̲ ̲D̲,̲ ̲S̲u̲p̲.̲/̲M̲a̲i̲n̲t̲.̲/̲U̲s̲e̲r̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲C̲S̲S̲I̲ ̲P̲o̲s̲.̲ ̲C̲a̲b̲l̲e̲s̲

Be specially careful when installing the opto fibre
cables. Min. bending radius is 13 mm.
a) Opto cables W811-812/W815-818/W847-850 are installed
in the PVC duct between rack D and the maint./sup.
positions in the CAMPS area. See AB dwg. 110.
b) Mount the fittings for the PVC conduit to the cable
duct above rack D (see AB drawing 116).
c) Mount the fittings for the other end of the PVC
conduit in the left hand knockout of rack D.
d) Mount the 75 mm PVC conduit between the cable duct
and the waveguide.
e) Opto cables W811-812/W815-818/W847-850 are pulled
through the left hand penetration of rack D into
the internal PVC cable duct.
f) Opto cables W811-812 are run through the internal
cable duct and out through the right hand penetration
of rack D.
The opto cables enter rack C together with the
interrack cables and are terminated on the front
side of the adapter crate through the cable channel
assembly. See AB dwg. 117.
g) Opto cables W815-818/W847-850 are run through the
internal cable ducts of the line termination racks
and terminated on the front side of the TDX-crates
according to AB dwg. 125.
h) Opto cables W819-838/W851-854 coming from the user
terminals are pulled through the left hand bottom
penetration and into rack D. The opto cables are
run through the internal cable ducts of the line
termination racks and terminated on the front of
the TDX-crates according to AB dwg. 125.
i) OPTO cables W843 and W859 coming from the CSSI
terminals are pulled through the center penetration
and into rack D.
The cables leave rack D through the right hand
penetration, are run through the internal cable
trays of rack C-B-A and terminated on the front
side of the CSSI Adapter crate in rack A.
j) Repeat step b) through d) for the center knock
out of rack D.
k) Extension opto cables, all marked with room numbers,
are pulled through the center penetration of rack
D. All extension opto cables are left in the bottom
of rack D.
4.4.2 R̲a̲c̲k̲ ̲G̲ ̲N̲A̲E̲W̲ ̲C̲a̲b̲l̲e̲s̲
a) Mount the fittings for the PVC conduit in the cable
tray above rack G.
b) Mount the fittings for the other end of the conduit
in the upper right hand penetration of rack G.
c) Mount the PVC conduit between the cable duct and
the vaweguide.
d) The OPTO cables W839 - 42/W855-58 are pulled through
the right hand penetration of rack G and into the
internal PVC duct.
e) The OPTO cables are run through the internal PVC
duct and terminated on the front side of the adapter
crate in rack G.
4.4.3 C̲a̲b̲l̲e̲ ̲B̲u̲n̲c̲h̲ ̲R̲a̲c̲k̲ ̲C̲ ̲t̲o̲ ̲R̲a̲c̲k̲ ̲D̲
a) Mount the male adapter between the two 90…0e…o…0f… fittings.
Adjust for correct distance between knockouts in
rack C and D (see AB drawing 115/116). Mount the
30 mm male adapter through the knockout into the
90…0e…o…0f… fitting. Tighten fittings by the inner nut.
b) Cables 905-908, The TDX-Bus, are mounted in metallic
zipper-tubing. The zipper-tubing is pulled through
the metallic conduit into Rack C. The Metallic
Part of the zipper-tubing is connected to the panel
mounting rail in rack C.
c) Cables W904 and W909 - 914, stored in rack D during
transportation, are pulled through the metallic
conduit into rack C and distributed according to
AB dwg. 117.
d) Yellow label on cables means pin 1 (ground) connected.
This end must be connected in rack C.
4.4.4 R̲a̲c̲k̲ ̲F̲ ̲(̲L̲S̲M̲/̲O̲t̲h̲e̲r̲ ̲C̲a̲b̲l̲e̲s̲)̲
a) Mount the 2 1/2" steel tube through the outer nut
into the right hand penetration of rack F and the
filter box. Tighten the fitting from inside the
filterbox by the inner nut (see AB drawing 116).
b) Repeat step a) for the left hand penetration of
rack F.
c) Repeat step a) for the other end of the conduit
to be mounted in the ferrous duct above rack F
(see AB drawing 110/116).
d) Mount the 75 mm metallic conduit on the outside
of the steel tubes and tighten it by the clamps.
e) The low speed medium (LSM) cables W855-879 and
W814 for the PTP/PTR are pulled through the waveguide
of the metallic duct, through the left hand pene-
tration of rack F and into the filter box.
f) Other cables: W731 CCIS
W741-744 Colocated TARE
W813+W890 OCR
are pulled through the waveguide of the metallic
duct, through the right hand penetration of rack
F and into the filter box.
g) The metallic cables are now ready for termination.
h) When the metallic cables have been connected by
H/N, see AB drawing 125, the cables will be finally
marked with cable no. Markers.
i) For pin assignment ref. Table 1-2 in Appendix A.
4.5 R̲E̲M̲O̲U̲N̲T̲I̲N̲G̲ ̲O̲F̲ ̲R̲A̲C̲K̲S̲
4.5.1 M̲o̲u̲n̲t̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲D̲i̲s̲k̲ ̲D̲r̲i̲v̲e̲s̲
The 3 separately packed disk drives, 1 MMD for rack
A, 1 SMD for rack B, and 1 MMD for rack C are unpacked
and installed according to the instructions in the
CAMPS Site Level Maintenance Manual.

4.5.2 M̲o̲u̲n̲t̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲F̲l̲o̲p̲p̲y̲ ̲D̲i̲s̲k̲ ̲S̲t̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲
a) Remove the front panel located below the watchdog
crate. (Pos. 1A2A6).
b) The floppy disk cabinet containing the two floppy
disk drives is installed on the two slides.
c) The cabinet is locked by mounting and tightening
the front panel by the 6 6mm screws.
4.5.3 M̲o̲u̲n̲t̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲M̲o̲d̲u̲l̲e̲s̲
a) For correct physical positioning of the separately
packed modules, refer to the inventory list. The
inventory list states the serial No. of the unit,
the crate assy No., the slot No. in the crate and
the address of the physical position in the system.
b) The modules are slid into the print guide and when
the edge connector of the print has entered the
connector of the motherboard, the modules are fastened
by the two fixing screws on the front of the modules.
4.6 I̲N̲S̲T̲A̲L̲L̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲ ̲A̲N̲D̲ ̲T̲E̲R̲M̲I̲N̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲ ̲O̲F̲ ̲I̲N̲T̲E̲R̲N̲A̲L̲ ̲S̲I̲G̲N̲A̲L̲ ̲C̲A̲B̲L̲E̲S̲
4.6.1 I̲n̲t̲e̲r̲n̲a̲l̲ ̲S̲i̲g̲n̲a̲l̲ ̲C̲a̲b̲l̲e̲s̲
a) Tables 4.6.2 through 4.6.19 list all internal signal
cables in the 3-bay processor rack assembly, and
the 4-bay line termination rack assembly, e.g.
also cables not disconnected during transportation.
b) The philosophy is to install/terminate or check
all cables within one crate at a time, starting
with processor crate assy No. 1.
c) The left-hand side of each table states the exact
location of a specific cable to be connected or
checked.
d) The right-hand side "going to/coming from" indicates
the termination point for the other end of the
cable.
e) It is recommended, after having connected one cable
according to the left-hand side of the table, that
the cable is laid down in the cable trays in the
direction of the termination point for the other
end (ref. the right-hand side of the table).
f) The termination at the other end of the cable is
performed when this step in the step-by-step procedure
is reached.
g) The column ILLUS "Cable Illustrations" refers to
the page No. in the CAMPS HARDWARE BREAKDOWN (CPS/SDS/017)
showing the physical cables with types of connectors.
h) The column DIAG "Cable Diagram" refers to the page
No. in the CAMPS HARDWARE BREAKDOWN (CPS/SDS/017)
showing the position of the actual cable in the
system.
i) For details of the interrack cabling see AB drawings
117 and 118.

b) All external metallic cables located in the
filter box (ref. 4.4) can now be terminated
and connected in the filter box by host nation
technicians.

c) When terminated, all opto fibre cables are distributed
through the internal cables channels of the
racks and out through the cable channel assy
below the TDX and adapter crates (see AB drawings
117/125)

the stabilizer (A1A3)(see CAMPS
H/W Breakdown page 214).
Set the rotary switch on the by-pass
panel to position "frequency stabilizer".
2) C̲H̲E̲C̲K̲: Input power and fault lamp lit.
Wait 2-3 seconds for fault lamp
to extinguish. "Power out" lamp
lit.
3) T̲U̲R̲N̲ ̲O̲N̲: Power switch 1 (left hand) on the
front of the main switch located
in the bottom of rack A.
4) C̲H̲E̲C̲K̲: "Power on" lamp lit on main switch.
5) T̲U̲R̲N̲ ̲O̲N̲:̲ Rear power switch disk drive No.
1 located in rack A.
6) C̲H̲E̲C̲K̲: Disk running and "ready" lamp in
front of disk lit (wait for
30 sec.).
7) T̲U̲R̲N̲ OFF: Miniature circuit breaker (CAMPS
PDB) corresponding to power circuit
no. 1 for freq. stab. 1 and disk

a) Before terminating the opto cable, a rubber tubing,
size 8 x 12 x 250 mm, must be mounted on the cable,

opto connectors.

e) Before connecting the two fibres to the optical
modem board in the VDU, the black receiver cable
with the opto connector must be checked for supplying
enough light emission.
The transmitter of the opto T/R in the TDX crate
is used as source for the opto fibre (black cable
connected).
f) Connect the black fibre in the VDU end to the 11XE
fiber optic power meter and verify that the optical
power output is not less than 34,6dBm.
g) If the Optical Power Output is less than - 34,6
dBm, the cable will be terminated with a new pair
of OPTO connectors. If still outside tolerance,
the cable will be marked as bad and a new cable
must be installed.
h) To get access to the optical modem board located
inside the VDU, unlock the two snappers on the
rear and lift the terminal access cover of the
VDU.
i) The white fibre must be connected to the transmitter
jack ("out") and the black fibre to the receiver
jack ("in") (see AB drawing 130).
j) The opto cable must be permanently marked with
cable No during the termination procedure.
4.11.3 M̲o̲u̲n̲t̲i̲n̲g̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲K̲e̲y̲b̲o̲a̲r̲d̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲K̲e̲y̲s̲
a) The keyboard cable is connected to the female cannon
plug located on the lower right hand front of the
terminal. The connector is secured by the two front
screws.
b) Remove the two keys placed on the inside of the
terminal access cover and insert the keys in the
key-lock on front of the terminal.

d) Repeat step b) and c) for mounting of the conduit
to the PTP/PTR (see AB drawing 131).
e) The metallic interface cable coming from the filter
box is pulled through the conduit into the PTP/PTR.
The cable will be terminated by a cannon plug according
to the pin assignment table 1-2 in the AB.
f) The cable is connected according to AB drawing
131.
4.14 T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲O̲F̲ ̲S̲U̲P̲/̲U̲S̲E̲R̲ ̲T̲E̲R̲M̲I̲N̲A̲L̲S̲
4.14.1 T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲D̲e̲l̲t̲a̲ ̲V̲D̲U̲
a) Connect the power plug to the wall outlet.
b) Turn on the "power on/off" switch located on the
lower right front of the terminal.
c) Operate the keylock switch to the ON position (turn
right) (right hand front panel).
d) Immediately after power up the terminal executes
a series of system diagnostics. If all are working
properly, the power-up menu will be displayed on
the screen within 10 seconds.
e) Adjust the intensity and focus until the characters
are clear and bright. Do not advance the intensity
too far or the display area may be highlighted.
f) Adjust the audible alarm for the desired sound
level (control shift and the G key).
g) When all the terminals have been switched on and
locally tested, the transmitter of the optical
modem board in the VDU, the white opto cable, and
the opto connection to the TDX crate must be checked
for supplying enough light emission.
h) Connect one by one all the white fibres terminated
in the opto T/R located in the TDX crates to the
11XE fibre optic power meter and check that the
optical power output is less than -34,6dBm.
i) If the Optical Power Output is less than -34,6
dBm, the cable will be terminated with a new pair
of opto connectors. If still outside tolerance,
the cable will be marked as bad and a new cable
must be installed.

d) Depress the "line feed" button on the
TCM front panel and verify that line
feed of paper occurs.
e) Press the test button for not more than
4 sec. Verify that all lamps on the
printer lights.
f) Press the test button for at least 5
sec. Verify that the following is printed:

NO ERRORS IN RAM

g) Repeat step 5.15.1 item h) and j) for
test of transmitter and opto connections.
4.14.4 O̲p̲e̲r̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲a̲l̲ ̲T̲e̲s̲t̲
Arrange to have one or ore messages sent to the MSP
and verify message contents with the transmitting station.
Verify during print out that the key-lock switch stops
the printing and that no part of the message is lost
when it is turned on again.
4.14.5 T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲O̲F̲ ̲P̲T̲P̲/̲P̲T̲R̲
Testing the PTP/PTR is a part of the PROCESSOR/LINE
TERMINATION TEST. Ref. 4.15.
