1. Concerning missing information in CRs proposal as stated
in the telex dated 1982-09-01, a new drawing of
the MEDS will be provided to be in accordance with
the rack layouts.
The following subsection under section 1 correspond
to the subsections in the referenced telex.
CR has proposed to standardize on 5 inch floppy discs.
Winchester disc could be offered as an option, but
is was decided not to include this.
Datasheets will be provided for tdx crate, floppy discs
and wordprocessors/terminals.
1.2 The new drawing will include 2 pieces of 5 inch floppy
disc for user data initialization instead of one disc.
1.3 The new configuration will only use one TDX bus throughout
the total system instead of three buses. Hence two
interfaces will not be needed anymore, i.e. two XNP
with SCI's and two XCP's.
1.4 In the work breakdown XNA is a misspelling of XTA.
CR explained that new H/W development is included in
order to change the XTA from a commercial version to
a unit to be installed in a TDX crate together with
TDX controller and power supply.
1.5 The XTA is a much simpler device than a XNP with SCI.
Basicallly the XTA is a buffer between a terminal and
the TDX bus. The XNP with SCI is programmable and can
interface intelligently with crypto devices and modems
etc.
1.6 Signaal proposes a front loaded printer for the rack
mounted printer. CR will find a solution. (Closed).
1.7 The drawings will have the LTU's deleted, because that
is HSA delivery.
1.8 Shock and vibration on all units will fullfill CR80
transportation specification, i.e. 1.5g vibration and
3g schock.
1.9 Power supply requirements will be analysed and CR will
make the answers more specific.
1.10 The terminals and the wordprocessor will be identical
H/W-vice, except in amount of memory.
1.11 Only pascal is available for this application, whereas
ADA is planned for in CR80 products.
1.12 The text used in the proposal will be reviewed and
modified by CR.
1.13 The word "modified" terminal will be deleted, because
the Deltaterminal will be identical to the CAMPS terminal
except for fiber optics.
1.14 CR is responsible for all modified S/W in the wordprocessor.
1.15 New terminal and floppy disc dimension has been provided.
1.16 Floppy disc will be removed from racks to table top
mounting.
1.17 see 1.14.
1.18 Radio transmission will be transparent to transmission
of data to and from the MEDS.
1.19 VDU's will be connected through S-4 cables, i.e. a
two wire connection. The two multiplexors used will
be transparent to CR equipment. New interface board
will be needed in VDU's and in mux-XTA interface. Signaal
will provide a spec. on the S-4 cable, and CR will
find a solution by introducing necessary conversion
board in terminals and at the message shelter for connection
to the exchange. The S-4 cable is suited for the V11
interface, CR will investigate this.
1.20 The special cable between the two shelter will be a
normal TDX cable, in an armed version. Signaal will
provide this cable with connectors in accordance with
CR specification, ref. CR80 handbook pg. 860 and pg
865.
2.0 Miscellaneous
2.1 Regarding responsibility of installation CR has agreed
to be responsible for installation in the Netherlands
by having a supervisor at site, who will be in charge
of the installation of CR equipment using Signaal installation
personel. Signaal will take over responsibility when
CR has succesfully installed the equipment. The MEDS
will be delivered and paid as a subsystem independently
of other subssystem.
2.2 Signaal has prepared the proposal following the IFB
word by word, but made some exceptions. CR will proofread
it and suggest any necessary change with the objective
to be fully compliant. The document will be signed
by CR and Signaal as basis for the agreement between
CR and Signaal.
2.3 Spare part prices are needed for 1 month spare parts,
i.e. components which is subject to failure by human
errors during 1 month. No 12 months spare part prices
are requested except establishing the RSPL.
2.4 Signaal requested a quote for a training of 20 operators
to be performed in Huizen by CR.
2.5 DMKL does not requet an Installation Manual. CR will
remove it from proposal.
2.6 Signaal provided CR with a list of QA procedures to
be followed in the project. CR will comment.
2.7 Warranty will have to be extended from the normal 12
months to 20 months. Signaal will provide the exact
number of month by telex on October 8, 12982.
2.8 Rights to S/W will have to be solved by CR and the
Signaal management.
2.9 CR has to include extra codification in the offer.
2.10 CR hereby states that we will maintain MEDS's H/W and
S/W after delivery to DMKL.
2.11 The bid validity starts on November 4 and continue
for 6 months.
2.12 Signaal would prefer CR to accept the same payment
terms as DMKL has stated in the IFB, i.e. 30% on SOP
and 70% on acceptance of H/W. CR may consider a 30%,
60%, 10% on SOP, factory acceptance and scheduled final
acceptance respectively. The updated price proposal
is based on the above suggested 30, 60, 10 schedule.
2.13 Compliance sheets.
CR will evaluate the consequence of accepting the responsibility
for shock and vibration. (sec. 1.1).
Codification: effort has to be expanded (sec. 3) CR
will evaluation consequences.
EMI/EMC. CR will update the offer with regard to fullfilling
MIL-STD-461, which allows commercial standards (sec.
1).
ESD. CR will evaluate the risk of this requirement
(see 2).
AC power.
CR will change the tex in the proosal (see 3.5.1.).
Increase in AC voltage will be more detailed in the
proposal.
Electrical safety (sec. 3.5.3) is accepted.
RFI protection. (see 7.3.3) CR will evaluate consequence
of providing cables to fullfill requirement (sec. 8.3.3),
sec 9.3.1, (sec 10.5.1), 11.3.1.
Floppy disc (sec 8.4). Comment to be deleted.
Teleprinter interface needs XTA (sec 14.16-17-18).
