                     Shortly after printout has started the
                     LTU to which the VDU-ROP is connected,
                     is removed.

                     Verify error log at system console and
                     verify dead terminal.

                     Install LTU again and initiate it via the
                     system console.

                     Verify that the interrupted printout will
                     start from the beginning again.



3.2      M̲a̲j̲o̲r̲ ̲f̲a̲i̲l̲u̲r̲e̲


         L̲o̲c̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲A̲c̲t̲i̲o̲n̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲

      6.  Transmission Rates     The following transmission

                                 2) On internodal trunks:

                                 3) To NICS/TARE: 600 bps


     12.  Throughput/Cross       The total throughput for
                                 an  
          Office Time            average N/M in the FIKS
                                 network is 5856 messages/hour
                                 
                                 (1 message: 1000 characters).

                                 Terminal response time
                                 is less than 5 sec., and
                                 total flash message delivery
                                 time is less than 2 minutes.


     24.  Storage of 3000        FIKS Tables are presently
                                 pre-
          Routing Indicators     pared for 2080 RI's. (800
                                 National and 1280 NATO
                                 RI's).  Small S/W modifications
                                 in the access S/W may allow
                                 for up to 24.000 RI's.


     28.  Code Conversion        FIKS operates internally
                                 in ASCII (ITA/5) and supports
                                 baudot code (ITA/2) terminals
                                 by code conver-
                                 sion in line termination
                                 units.
