                        1̲ ̲ ̲P̲U̲R̲P̲O̲S̲E̲

The purpose of this document is to outline the method
used for the VDU reliability monitoring and to present
         the results.

                     2̲ ̲ ̲I̲N̲T̲R̲O̲D̲U̲C̲T̲I̲O̲N̲

The DELTA DATA 7260 TC VDU is a newly developed piece
of equipment with which Christian Rovsing A/S has no
         prior experience regarding operational reliability.

Upon delivery from the manufacturer each VDU is subjected
to an incoming inspection test (ref CPS/TPR/012) followed
         by a 72 hour burn-in period.

After incoming inspection and burn-in all VDUs, which
are not to be used for development and system testing,
are packed and stored until delivery to the individual
         sites.

The reliability monitoring is performed on the VDUs
which are used for system development and testing.

3.1      F̲A̲I̲L̲U̲R̲E̲ ̲R̲E̲P̲O̲R̲T̲I̲N̲G̲

After completion of incoming inspection all observed
failures are reported and filed by means of the established
         Failure Reporting System (ref. CPS/PLN/006).

3.2      O̲P̲E̲R̲A̲T̲I̲N̲G̲ ̲T̲I̲M̲E̲ ̲M̲O̲N̲I̲T̲O̲R̲I̲N̲G̲

The elapsed operating time is for each individual VDU
recorded by means of the counter MCLK displayed in
the Configuration Menu. MCLK is a hexadecimal display
of the number of elapsed 6 minutes intervals of operating
time. The contents of MCLK cannot be altered by any
         user accessible VDU function.

The initial value of MCLK is in accordance with observations
during incoming inspection assumed to have been HEX
         55AC00 or 000000.

3.3      R̲E̲S̲U̲L̲T̲S̲

According to the attached datasheets 40 VDUs have been
monitored. The data sheets contains for each VDU the
         following data:

         a)  Serial no.

         b)  Reading of MCLK

         c)  Calculated operating time

         d)  Observed no. of failures.

The total accumulated operating time was at the time
of issue of this document 201,624.8 hours and the total
no. of failures observed was 18.

A representative reliability figure will be obtained
if the period of observation starts after burn-in.
This results in the following figures:

         Acc. operating time:      198,744.8 hours.
         No. of failures observed:     18

         Average MTBF:              11,041.4 hours.
