FUNCTIONAL SOFTWARE TEST SPECIFICATION
AND PROCEDURES…02…ISSUE 1.1…02…CAMPS

3.10     T̲E̲S̲T̲G̲R̲O̲U̲P̲ ̲N̲O̲.̲ ̲1̲0̲

3.10.1   G̲e̲n̲e̲r̲a̲l̲ ̲D̲e̲s̲c̲r̲i̲p̲t̲i̲o̲n̲

This testgroup will give a verification of the following
         functions:

         a)  Retrieval of Messages and Transactions:

             1)  Retrievl by User

             2)  Retrieval by Supervisor (for local use as this
section only tests the retrieval and not the
                 additional facilities e.g readdressal)

         b)  Storage of Messages and Transactions:

             1)  Types of messages to be stored

             2)  Types of transations to be stored.

The reason for this sequence (retrieval, storage) is
that the storage will be verified by retrieval compared
with data from previously executed test groups.

When comparing, it should be noted that categories
CTS, ATOMAL and he encrypted version of an encrypted
message shall not be subject to retrieval and that
data messages only can be retrieved for reruns.

It is not feasible to specify explicitly beforehand
all input data for retrieval (as they depend on the
         circumtances of the previous tests).

For the same reason, the test specification cannot
distinguish between on-line and off-line retrieval.

The test cases are described as if they were on-line.

If some retrieval happens to be off-line, the system
sall respond with additional displays and requests
(e.g. a "Retrieval in progress" notification, a "Retrieval
temporarily impossible" notification or mount requests
         to the supervisor).

Each test part will start with the retrieval of a Catalogue
         diplay.

A hard copy of these catalogues shall be made and shall
form the basis of a choice of input data for the remaining
retrieval tests.  They may also reveal that additional
types of tems need to be stored for the use in specific
         retrieval.

3.10.1.1 B̲a̲s̲e̲l̲i̲n̲e̲ ̲f̲o̲r̲ ̲T̲h̲i̲s̲ ̲T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲G̲r̲o̲u̲p̲

The basis for the specifications of test group 10 is

         CPS/210/SYS/0001, issue 3.3 of 810723 with anticipated
         corrections by 810918.

CPS/ICD/001 issue 3.2 with anticipated corrections
         by 810918.

         CPS/ICD/002, issue 2.2 plus extensions.

3.10.2   T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲C̲o̲n̲t̲r̲o̲l̲

This testgroup will be executed as an analysis of the
contents of the on-line historical database stored
during execution of the peceding testgroups.

3.10.2.1 I̲n̲p̲u̲t̲ ̲D̲a̲t̲a̲

Input data for the testgroup is the input data used
for all the previous executed testgroups.

3.10.2.2 I̲n̲p̲u̲t̲ ̲C̲o̲m̲m̲a̲n̲d̲s̲

All commands related to the retrieval functions will
         be executed.

Test halt or interruption can be accomplished by execution
of the "Cancel" or "Suspend function.

3.10.2.3 O̲u̲t̲p̲u̲t̲ ̲D̲a̲t̲a̲

Output from the retreival functions shall be presented
at the VDU from which the retrieval command is entered.

3.10.2.4 O̲u̲t̲p̲u̲t̲ ̲N̲o̲t̲i̲f̲i̲c̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲

All output from the retrieval functions shall be presented
in the ormat specified in the SRS para. 3.2.7. Output
not in accordance with the above mentioned will be
due to departure from the specified system function.
