6.1 G̲E̲N̲E̲R̲A̲L̲
The following is a brief description of how CR intends
to manage the installation and transportation of the
UKAIR CCIS equipment, and a description of what is
included in the price proposal.
6.2 P̲L̲A̲N̲N̲I̲N̲G̲ ̲A̲N̲D̲ ̲M̲A̲N̲A̲G̲E̲M̲E̲N̲T̲
CR will prepare an installation plan which outlines
the various tasks to be accomplished regarding site
preparation and installation. Furthermore the plan
will specify the responsibilities of CR and customer.
CR will prepare a transportation plan which describes
in details the tasks to be performed concerning transportation
of the equipment, such as notification procedures,
customs procedures, packaging, packing and marking
etc.
At each of the three sites involved in this proposal,
CR will carry out a site survey to determine equipment
room layout, power distribution, ducting, signal cabling
and other details concerning the installation of the
CR equipment.
The result of the site survey will be documented in
a site survey report.
30 days prior to start of installation, CR will carry
out a site verification at each of the three sites,
to ensure that the site has been prepared in accordance
with the customer approved "Site Preparation Requirements".
The result of the Site verification will be documented
in a Site Verification Report for each site.
6.3 I̲N̲S̲T̲A̲L̲L̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲ ̲D̲O̲C̲U̲M̲E̲N̲T̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲
Based on the site survey report and the equipment characteristics,
CR will prepare a "Site Preparation Requirements (SPR)"
document, which will specify the preparations that
customer must undertake in order to prepare the individual
sites for installation of the proposed equipment. This
proposal is based on that customer provides standard
computer rooms with raised floors, airconditioning,
power and ground according to the specifications outlined
in section D of the RFP, and distribute power and ground
to CR equipment, provide and install ducts for power
as well as signal cabling. The SPR will contain equipment
room layout drawings, physical and electrical characteristies
of the equipment and other requirements to above mentioned
facilities. The SPR will be delivered to customer for
approval 4 months prior to start of installation.
Upon customer approval of the SPR, CR will prepare
an "Equipment Installation Drawings" (EID) document
for each site, and deliver it to customer for approval
2 months prior to start of installation. The EID will
contain the electrical layout of the equipment and
other information necessarry for installation of the
CR provided equipment, including a power up and checkout
procedure. During the installation, the drawings will
be updated, if necessary, to reflect the "as installed"
situation.
After complete installation of a site, CR will produce
an "Installation Manual". This manual will contain
the updated installation drawings, layout drawings
and an installation procedure. The Installation Manual
will be submitted to customer not later than 3 months
after completion of installation at each of the two
operational sites.
6.4 S̲I̲T̲E̲ ̲I̲N̲S̲T̲A̲L̲L̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲ ̲(̲D̲e̲v̲e̲l̲o̲p̲m̲e̲n̲t̲ ̲S̲i̲t̲e̲)̲
At the development site, the following installations
are quoted:

7.1 M̲A̲I̲N̲T̲E̲N̲A̲N̲C̲E̲
The UKAIR CCIS systems can be maintained in two different
ways, either by direct on site support within normal
working hours through a maintenance engineer placed
within the CSC organisation, or by an call service,
where field engineers will be awailable from CHRISTIAN
ROVSING A/S. Both options are priced in the Commercial
proposal.
7.2 S̲P̲A̲R̲E̲S̲
Recommended spare parts lists calculated in accordance
with chapter 7.2.1 are shown in Figure 7.2-1 and Figure
7.2-2.
7.2.1 O̲p̲t̲i̲m̲u̲m̲ ̲S̲p̲a̲r̲e̲s̲ ̲S̲u̲p̲p̲o̲r̲t̲ ̲S̲t̲r̲a̲t̲e̲g̲y̲
The calculation of numbers of spare parts will be done
by use of Poissons distribution probability.
In order to determine the number of spare modules it
is assumed that the failure rate of each module (circuit
board) ha an exponential distribution. This approximation
holds true for electronic equipment throughout its
useful life, i.e. wear-out phenomena can be ignored.
It can be shown that the probability of observing exactly
i failures over a period of t operating hours is given
by the Poisson distribution:
(t/MTBF)…0e…i…0f… x exp (-t/MTBF)
p (i) = ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲ ̲
i!
The Period t corresponds to the accumulated operating
period for the involved modules.
