This document describes the procedures and guidelines
for inspection and test of the frequency stabilizer
model 1152-3 delivered from Abacus Controls Inc. to
CRA.

Quality Requirements for Equipment
Purchased for the CAMPS Project.
3̲ ̲ ̲I̲N̲C̲O̲M̲I̲N̲G̲ ̲I̲N̲S̲P̲E̲C̲T̲I̲O̲N̲
3.1 G̲E̲N̲E̲R̲A̲L̲
Unpacking, registration, inspection for shipping damage
and visual inspection shall be performed by the ILS-Incoming
Inspection Personnel.
3.1.1 R̲e̲g̲i̲s̲t̲r̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲
Registration shall be performed in agreement with the
lines laid down in SD/STD/017, Incoming Inspection
Standard.
3.1.2 F̲a̲i̲l̲u̲r̲e̲ ̲R̲e̲p̲o̲r̲t̲i̲n̲g̲
All failures, discrepancies etc. shall be reported
in agreement with the lines laid down in PAD/STD/002,
Nonconformance Standard.
3.1.3 D̲o̲c̲u̲m̲e̲n̲t̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲
3.1.3.1 I̲n̲v̲o̲i̲c̲e̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲C̲O̲C̲'̲s̲
Invoice and Certificates of Conformance shall in copies
be distributed to the Project Office.
3.2 I̲N̲C̲O̲M̲I̲N̲G̲ ̲I̲N̲S̲P̲E̲C̲T̲I̲O̲N̲ ̲A̲N̲D̲ ̲T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲L̲O̲G̲
The Incoming Inspection Log, Appendix A, shall be filled
in consistently and carefully during the whole inspection
and test operation. This log will be an appendix to
the concerned Incoming Inspection Report (IKR).
4̲ ̲ ̲V̲I̲S̲U̲A̲L̲ ̲I̲N̲S̲P̲E̲C̲T̲I̲O̲N̲
4.1 G̲E̲N̲E̲R̲A̲L̲
The following visual inspection points shall be inspected
by the ILS-inspection personnel.
4.2 I̲N̲S̲P̲E̲C̲T̲I̲O̲N̲ ̲P̲O̲I̲N̲T̲S̲
a) Verify that all ordered items are presented.
b) Inspect the units for possible shipping damage.
c) Verify that the workmanship is in accordance with
CPS/AUX/009.

a) 2 AC Voltmeters 125/250V
b) 2 AC Amperemeters 20/5/2 A
c) 1 Multimeter Fluke 8020 A
d) 1 ABACUS Frequency Stabilizer with option board
type 41095-5.
e) 2 Potentiometers with knobs mounted in a control
box.
f) 1 Frequency counter
g) 3 Switches mounted on a panel or on the load
h) 1 Load consisting of three 1KW heater units.
6̲ ̲ ̲T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲C̲O̲N̲F̲I̲G̲U̲R̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲
One ABACUS frequency stabilizer with option board connected
to two potentiometers are used to control the input
voltage and frequency of the unit under test.
The input is connected to a voltmeter and through an
amperemeter to the input of the unit under test.
The output of the unit under test is connected to a
frequency meter and a voltmeter through an amperemeter
to the three switches for the load.
The test set-up is shown in APPENDIX B.
7̲ ̲ ̲F̲U̲N̲C̲T̲I̲O̲N̲A̲L̲ ̲T̲E̲S̲T̲
7.1 A̲M̲B̲I̲E̲N̲T̲
Ambient temperature: +20 - 25…0e…o…0f…C.
The out-put frequencies and voltages in idle conditions
are measured for 45 Hz and 60 Hz input.
The input voltage is varied and HIGH and LOW CUT OFF
are measured.
With the load set to approx. 1/2 KW, 1 KW and 2 KW
the input voltage and current and the output voltage,
current and power are measured.
With a peak-load of 3 KW for a short duration and with
the input voltage 220V/50Hz the input current and the
output current, voltage and frequency are measured.
7.2 H̲I̲G̲H̲ ̲T̲E̲M̲P̲E̲R̲A̲T̲U̲R̲E̲
High temperature: +40…0e…o…0f…C.
The input is set to 220V/50Hz.
With approx. load 1 KW, the input current and the output
voltage, frequency and current are measured after 24
hours run, and the results are filled in the log.
8̲ ̲ ̲P̲A̲C̲K̲I̲N̲G̲
8.1 G̲E̲N̲E̲R̲A̲L̲
ILS-personnel has the responsibility for collecting
all items according to para 4.2 a and performance of
the following points.
8.2 P̲A̲C̲K̲I̲N̲G̲
All items shall be packed in plastic bags with humidity
absorbing Silica Qel and repacked.
8.3 P̲A̲P̲E̲R̲W̲O̲R̲K̲
The paperwork in the shape of Incoming Inspection Log,
Incoming Inspection Report and Stock List shall be
finished.
