The Configuration Management Standard Manual describes
the standards and procedures which apply to Configuration
Management in the system division (SD) of Christian
Rovsing A/S. The Manual is established in accordance
with Configuration Management Plan SD/PLN/006.
1.1 P̲U̲R̲P̲O̲S̲E̲
It is the purpose of this manual to describe the rules
for Configuration Management and the responsibilities
and authority of the Systems Division Configuration
Manager.
The manual will be organized in independent sections
(standards) each describing one particular Configuration
Management task or aspect.
1.2 R̲E̲S̲P̲O̲N̲S̲I̲B̲I̲L̲I̲T̲Y̲
This Manual is established under the joint responsibility
of the Quality Assurance and the Systems Engineering
Departments.
Changes may be proposed by anyone concerned but only
such changes approved by both the above mentioned parties
will become effective.
1.3 O̲R̲I̲G̲I̲N̲ ̲O̲F̲ ̲S̲T̲A̲N̲D̲A̲R̲D̲S̲
Standards and procedures to be contained in this manual
may be
- designed originally for inclusion herein
- designed for use elsewhere but approved as applicable

4.1 C̲O̲N̲F̲I̲G̲U̲R̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲ ̲I̲T̲E̲M̲ ̲I̲D̲E̲N̲T̲I̲F̲I̲C̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲ ̲S̲T̲A̲N̲D̲A̲R̲D̲
This standard defines the rules for identification
of all items under configuration control.
It is clearly stated that the identification must be
unique and easily understood. Unambiguous rules are
set down to ensure distinction between versions.
Rules are laid for identification of hardware, software,
documents, and drawings, and also the marking of spare
parts and marking for shipment and storage are stated.
4.2 D̲O̲C̲U̲M̲E̲N̲T̲ ̲L̲A̲Y̲O̲U̲T̲ ̲S̲T̲A̲N̲D̲A̲R̲D̲
This standard defines the layout of documents with
concern to format, division and subdivision of text,
titles and headings, section numbering and page numbering,
etc.
Further is described the use of figures, rules for
table of contents, for appendices, etc., and the use
of preprinted front pages and revision records.
The purpose is to facilitate production of uniform
documents enhancing the readability of documents.
4.3 C̲O̲N̲F̲I̲G̲U̲R̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲ ̲C̲H̲A̲N̲G̲E̲ ̲C̲O̲N̲T̲R̲O̲L̲ ̲S̲T̲A̲N̲D̲A̲R̲D̲
This standard states the formula for implementation
of changes to configuration items.
It states the way to request a change, the controlling
role of Change Control Board (CCB), the checking role
of Configuration Management (CM), and how changes are
authorized, synchronized, and released for implementation.
4.4 D̲O̲C̲U̲M̲E̲N̲T̲ ̲C̲O̲N̲T̲R̲O̲L̲ ̲C̲E̲N̲T̲R̲E̲ ̲S̲T̲A̲N̲D̲A̲R̲D̲
This standard describes the principles of the central
archive, the Document Control Centre.
It sets the rules for filing and maintenance of indices
and the procedure of accessing filed documents.
4.5 T̲E̲G̲N̲I̲N̲G̲S̲S̲T̲A̲N̲D̲A̲R̲D̲
This standard (Drawing Standard) is written in Danish.
It describes in details the standards for technical
drawings, paper formats, symbols used, identification,
menans of copying, etc.
Furthermore, the standard describes filing, the rules
for amnendments, version numbering, an approval.
