5.9 P̲O̲W̲E̲R̲ ̲U̲P̲ ̲A̲N̲D̲ ̲C̲H̲E̲C̲K̲ ̲O̲U̲T̲
Before powering up, verify that a̲l̲l̲ ̲s̲w̲i̲t̲c̲h̲e̲s̲ on a̲l̲l̲
e̲q̲u̲i̲p̲m̲e̲n̲t̲ are i̲n̲ ̲p̲o̲s̲i̲t̲i̲o̲n̲ ̲o̲f̲f̲ or O.
5.9.1 G̲r̲o̲u̲n̲d̲i̲n̲g̲s̲
a) Measure with an Ohm-meter that no shor circuit
exists between the safety group (cabinets) and
the lines of circuit no. 1 through 9 and 1a through
3a.
b) Remount the lids of the power line filters by the
30 screws.
c) Measure with an Ohm-meter if the "Equipment Frame
Ground" (cabines) is isolated from the "Signal
Ground" (5V return).
The "Signal Ground" (GND) is found on the CCA-panel,
refer to Figure 5.9.1.
d) Start the powering up in the below sequence, starting
at the CAMPS power distribution board (PDB):
5.9.2 C̲A̲M̲S̲ ̲P̲D̲B̲
T̲U̲R̲N̲ ̲O̲N̲: Main circuit breaker
T̲U̲R̲N̲ ̲O̲N̲: Miniature circuit breakers
C̲H̲E̲C̲K̲O̲U̲T̲: No fuses in the CAMPS PDB blown due to
short circuit in the installation.

5.9.3 F̲r̲e̲q̲u̲e̲n̲c̲y̲ ̲S̲t̲a̲b̲i̲l̲i̲z̲e̲r̲s̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲D̲i̲s̲k̲ ̲D̲r̲i̲v̲e̲s̲
To examine that the 3 disk drives are supplied from
3 separate phases via the frequency stabilizers proceed
in the below sequence:
a F̲r̲e̲q̲u̲e̲n̲c̲y̲ ̲S̲t̲a̲b̲i̲l̲i̲z̲e̲r̲ ̲#̲1̲/̲D̲i̲s̲k̲ ̲#̲1̲ ̲(̲M̲M̲D̲)̲ ̲R̲A̲C̲K̲ ̲A̲
1) T̲U̲R̲N̲ ̲O̲N̲: Input power switch on front of
the stabilizer (A1A3)(see CAMPS
H/W Breakdown page 344).
Set the rotary switch on the by-pass
panel to position "frequency stabilizer".
2) C̲H̲E̲C̲K̲: Input power and fault lamp lit. Wait
2-3 seconds for fault lamp to extinguish.
"Power out" lamp lit.
3) T̲U̲R̲N̲ ̲O̲N̲: Power switch 1 (left hand) on the
front of the main switch located
in the bottom of rack A.
4) C̲H̲E̲C̲K̲: "Power on" lamp lit onmain switch.
5) T̲U̲R̲N̲ ̲O̲N̲:̲ Rear power switch disk drive No.
1 located in rack A.
6) C̲H̲E̲C̲K̲: Disk running and "ready" lamp in
front of disk lit (wait for
30 sec.).
7) T̲U̲R̲N̲ OFF: Miniature circuit breaker (CAMPS
PDB) corresponding to powr circuit
no. 1 for freq. stab. 1 and disk
1 (see ATBB drawing 120).
8) C̲H̲E̲C̲K̲: Disk 1 and freq. stab. 1 powered
down.
9) Leave the miniature circuit breaker in position
OFF.
b) F̲r̲e̲q̲u̲e̲n̲c̲y̲ ̲S̲t̲a̲b̲i̲l̲i̲z̲e̲r̲ ̲#̲2̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲D̲i̲s̲k̲ ̲#̲2̲ ̲(̲S̲M̲D̲)̲
Repeat step 5.9.3a-1 through a-4 for frequency
stab. #2 (A1A5) and disk drive #2 (rack B).
5) T̲U̲R̲N̲ ̲O̲N̲:̲ Rear switches "AC power" nd "power
supply".
6) C̲H̲E̲C̲K̲:̲ Disk running. (No ready lamp if
no disk pack mounted).
Proceed by repeating step 5.9.3a-7 thru a-9 for
circuit no. 2.
c) F̲r̲e̲q̲u̲e̲n̲c̲y̲ ̲S̲t̲a̲b̲i̲l̲i̲z̲e̲r̲ ̲#̲3̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲D̲i̲s̲k̲ ̲#̲3̲ ̲(̲M̲M̲D̲)̲
Repeat step 5.9.3 a-1 through a-9 for frequncy
stab. #3 (A1A7), circuit no. 3, and disk drive
#3 (rack C).
d) Turn on the 3 miniature circuit breakers in the
CAMPS PDB one by one.
e) Check that all frequency stabilizers and disks
are operating.
f) By-pass the freq. stab. by positionin
