2.1.1 I̲n̲-̲P̲l̲a̲n̲t̲ ̲V̲e̲r̲i̲f̲i̲c̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲
At the Factory Acceptance Test the Test Object is the
Protocol Converter H/W and S/W in a simulated environment,
i.e. verification of all PC features using a PC-CAMPS
link, but also including features, which are not relevant
or feasible to verify at the On-Site Tests (e.g. design
concepts and bogus data flow). The FATs serve as a
validation of each PC system before installation on
site. The PC H/W and S/W systems are depicted in Figures
2.1-1 and 2.1-2.
2.1.2 O̲n̲-̲S̲i̲t̲e̲ ̲V̲e̲r̲i̲f̲i̲c̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲
a) The Preliminary Acceptance Test is only performed
on site 1 (SHAPE). The Test Object of the PAT is
the PC-equipment connected to the CCIS system with
a CAMPS as supporting equipment, i.e. the purpose
is a "real-life" verification of the PC-CCIS link.
b) At the Provisional Site Acceptance Test the Test
Object is the CAMPS/SCARS-PC-CCIS links in order
to make the final functional test of the PC-system.

2.2.1.1 C̲o̲n̲d̲i̲t̲i̲o̲n̲s̲ ̲a̲t̲ ̲F̲A̲T̲
The verification will be conducted on a Protocol Converter
at the CR-factory in Ballerup by a CR Test Engineer.
The input data from the CAMPS side is a representative
batch of messages varying in type, precedence and classification.
On the CCIS side where the link is simulated, the same
set of messages are to be used for the verification.
2.2.1.2 C̲o̲n̲d̲i̲t̲i̲o̲n̲s̲ ̲a̲t̲ ̲P̲A̲T̲
The Preliminary Site Acceptance Test at SHAPE will
concentrate upon verification of the PC-CCIS interface
and the function of the Protocol Converter. The verification
will use the built-in Test Messages present in the
Protocol Converter together with the SHAPE supplied
Test Messages from the CCIS-system.
(ref. 28).
2.2.1.3 C̲o̲n̲d̲i̲t̲i̲o̲n̲s̲ ̲a̲t̲ ̲P̲S̲A̲T̲
The Protocol Converter shall be connected to both the
CCIS-system and the CAMPS-system and a functional verification
of the PC shall be performed.
2.2.2 V̲e̲r̲i̲f̲i̲c̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲ ̲M̲e̲t̲h̲o̲d̲ ̲T̲e̲r̲m̲s̲
The keeping of the requirements will be verified by
one of the following methods:
A N̲o̲t̲ ̲A̲p̲p̲l̲i̲c̲a̲b̲l̲e̲: No action will be taken.
B E̲x̲a̲m̲i̲n̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲: This method is a non-functional verification,
such as visual inspection of the physical characteristics
of the item or of the documentation associated
with the item.
C A̲n̲a̲l̲y̲s̲i̲s̲: This method is a non-functional verification,
such as deduction or translation of data, review
of analytical data, or performance of a detailed
analysis.
D T̲e̲s̲t̲/̲D̲e̲m̲o̲n̲s̲t̲r̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲: This method is a functional
verification, such as actual operation wherein
the element of verification is instrumented, measured,
or displayed directly (test) or where the element
of verification is logically obvious, as the result
of some other verification, but not itself displayed
(demonstration).
2.2.3 D̲a̲t̲a̲ ̲R̲e̲c̲o̲r̲d̲i̲n̲g̲
For the verification of the PC functions, it will be
necessary to maintain three detailed logs of activities:
o Messages sent and received on CAMPS/SCARS
o Messages sent and received on CCIS
o Messages sent and received on PC
These logs are to be verified by the supervisor after
the printing. This is applicable to Test Group 4 where
End-System are used.
3. V̲E̲R̲I̲F̲I̲C̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲ ̲S̲T̲R̲U̲C̲T̲U̲R̲E̲
The purpose of the verification is to provide a demonstration
of the PC functional capability. The verification is
divided into 5 separate Test Groups:
G̲R̲O̲U̲P̲ ̲N̲O̲.̲ N̲A̲M̲E̲
1 System and Start-up
2 Maintenance Mode
3 Local Mode
4 Operational Mode
5 Test Mode
In each Test Group, a set of system requirements is
to be verified using one of the verification methods.
The verification structure is a 4-level hierarchy:
o Test Group
o Test Function
o Test Case
o Test Step
See the Test Procedure Hierarchy in Figure 3-1.
F̲I̲G̲U̲R̲E̲ ̲3̲-̲1̲…01……01…TEST PROCEDURE HIERARCHY
3.1 T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲C̲O̲N̲T̲R̲O̲L̲
The test control is related to the TEST STEP form.
An sample of this form is shown in Figure 3.1-1, when
it has been filled in.
Explanations to Figure 3.1-1:
a) G.F.C.: 2.2.2 - means that this is Test Group
2,
Function 2 and case 2.
b) TEST CASE: MAINTENANCE, DUMP, BD - is the title
of G.F.C.
c) STEP: - is a column containing
sequential numbering of
each step.
d) ACTION AND INPUT: - contains input.
e) EXPECTED RESULTS - contains output. (a) and (b)
are
repetition marks, - once stated
at the end of a line, it can
be
used for repetition of expec-
ted output.
f) CHECK - is a column where Shape shall
fill-in accepting marks:
r - right (approved)
n - note (discrepancy)
f - failure (defect)
g) COMMENTS: - is used for explanation of
marks when n or f has been
filled in.
h) Test Witnesses: - is signatures from CR and SHAPE
If corrective actions to the step-by-step proceeding
have to be taken, this must be analysed to decide on
extent of retest for agreement with SHAPE. "Corrective
action" in such cases may result in the detected fault
being corrected immediately, causing the test to be
repeated only in part thus not requiring SHAPE test
team members to significantly prelonging their engagement
in the test or the detected fault may cause corrective
action of longer duration (several days). In the latter
case, the Contractor will propose an appropriate postponement
of the test and provide new test dates at which a complete
acceptance test is to be performed as retest.

The Test Groups are constructed with the purpose of
verifying the functions of PC. The Functional Verification
is performed in factory and on site. The On Site Verification
is divided into a Preliminary Acceptance Test(PAT)
and a Provisional Site Acceptance Test(PSAT). The Test
Cases for the FAT is stated in Appendix A. The Test
Cases for PAT and PSAT is stated in Appendix B.
The selection of Test Cases for each Verification has
been made under consideration of the unavoidability
of simulation of End-system and the feasibility of
construction of testmessages.
