3.       V̲E̲R̲I̲F̲I̲C̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲ ̲S̲T̲R̲U̲C̲T̲U̲R̲E̲

The purpose of the verification is to provide a demonstration
of the PC functional capability. The verification is
divided into 5 separate Test Groups:

         G̲R̲O̲U̲P̲ ̲N̲O̲.̲       N̲A̲M̲E̲

            1            System and Start-up
            2            Maintenance Mode

            5            Test Mode

In each Test Group, a set of system requirements is
to be verified using one of the verification methods.

The verification structure is a 4-level hierarchy:

         o  Test Group
         o  Test Function
         o  Test Case
         o  Test Step

See the Test Procedure Hierarchy in Figure 3-1.

3.1      T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲C̲O̲N̲T̲R̲O̲L̲

The test control is related to the TEST STEP form.
An sample of this form is shown in Figure 3.1-1, when
         it has been filled in.
         Explanations to Figure 3.1-1:

         a)  G.F.C.: 2.2.2     - means that this is Test Group
             2,
                                 Function 2 and case 2.
         b)  TEST CASE: MAINTENANCE, DUMP, BD - is the title

                                                of G.F.C.
         c)  STEP:             - is a column containing
                                   sequential numbering of
                                 each step.
         d)  ACTION AND INPUT: - contains input.
         e)  EXPECTED RESULTS  - contains output. (a) and (b)
             are
                                 repetition marks, - once stated

at the end of a line, it can
         be
                                 used for repetition of expec-
                                 ted output.
         f)  CHECK             - is a column where Shape shall

                                 fill-in accepting marks:
                                 r - right   (approved)
                                 n - note    (discrepancy)
                                 f - failure (defect)
         g)  COMMENTS:         - is used for explanation of
marks when n or f has been
                                 filled in.
         h)  Test Witnesses:   - is signatures from CR and SHAPE

If corrective actions to the step-by-step proceeding
have to be taken, this must be analysed to decide on
extent of retest for agreement with SHAPE. "Corrective
action" in such cases may result in the detected fault
being corrected immediately, causing the test to be
repeated only in part thus not requiring SHAPE test
team members to significantly prelonging their engagement
in the test or the detected fault may cause corrective
action of longer duration (several days). In the latter
case, the Contractor will propose an appropriate postponement
of the test and provide new test dates at which a complete
acceptance test is to be performed as retest.
