interface
-----------------------------------------------------------------
ref.: a) your document 3103.3.15/SHCEPA/80
b) minutes of Progress Meeting No. 5 para 7.
1. The shape letter 3103.3.15/SHCEPA/80 refers
to five enclosure. The following were received
by CR A/S:
a. nicsma/sped/stb (80) 601.1/171. Only enclosure
2, 3 and 5 were received.
b. Performance spec. for the TARE synchonous channel
protocol. Appendix 30 were received as shape
camps doc. no. 027. Appendix 40 were not received
(and is not relevant to CAMPS).
The received appendix 30 was a handcorrected
draft version of document no. 177000-600 with
revision identification F dated 29 june 1979
and revised with DCN G5 of 26. sept. 1980.
c. An amplification of the TARE protocols were
not received.
d. A source code listing of the latest TARE front
end programming were received for information
only as SHAPE document no. 32.
e. Appendix 10 to TARE spec. entitled command,
report and rejection message format data were
not received by CR A/S.
2. The cover letter on ref. a) para 5 indicates
that CR should be in possession of the relevant
documentation.
We like to correct this incorrect statement.
CR has for a long period worked as a subcontractor
to Litton performing the EDC protocol. Cr has, however,
not been involved in the decission taking around the
changes to the protocol.
Now the changes are no longer performed by CR. CR therefore
has no knowledge about the status of the EDC protocol.
Therefore the agreed decision in Progress Minutes of
Meeting no. 2 para 13. As far as the contractual situation
goes we like to point out that CR has the contract
with SHAPE and not with Litton.
If the changes to the EDC protocol shall be properly
implemented by CR (if any) we can only recommend that
the proper configuration management procedures are
followed.
3. It was further established at the contract negotiation
and revised in minutes of the 2nd CAMPS Progress
Meeting 19/20 June para 13, that the contractual
baseline for the NICS TARE I/F was the documents
handed over to CR on or before 30 august 1980.
The baseline document is therefore: 177000-600
revision identification F and further revised
by DCN G2 of 15 february 1980.
4. The latest version of the TARE EDC protocol
(Appendix 30) therefore represents a change
to requirements baseline and we request SHAPE
to submit a request for change proposal in accordance
with the procedures set forth in the CAMPS contract.
kind regards,
CHRISTIAN ROVSING A/S
