         Two failure modes are evaluated for each component
         and for each functional block (module).

         1)  The part is short-circuited
         2)  The part is open-circuitd.

         The failures are subdivided in three categories

         1)  Catastrophic i.e. failure that are both sudden
             and complete

         2)  Critical i.e. failure that causes loss of a unit

         3)  non critical failures which are divided in major
             and minor break down.
