The test-configuration is shown in Appendix B.
The L/L-adapter under test is connected to the loop-back
cable.
All four D-connectors are used on the 4-channel version.
The 2x9 VAC is supplied from a Metrix Adapter Power
Supply to the edge connector A/B pin 9 and A/B pin
26. The pulse-generator is connected to the loop-back
cable input and a dual-channel oscilloscope is monitoring
the input and using a flying probe measuring the 15
output pins.
8 F̲U̲N̲C̲T̲I̲O̲N̲A̲L̲ ̲T̲E̲S̲T̲
8.1 P̲O̲W̲E̲R̲ ̲S̲U̲P̲P̲L̲Y̲ ̲T̲E̲S̲T̲
Measure the voltage and ripple on plug U1 between ground
connection and:
PIN 16 to be within +12V 5%, RIPPLE 50mV
PIN 9 to be within -12V 5%, RIPPLE 50mV
PIN 3 to be within + 5V 5%, RIPPLE 1mV
Vary the input from the mains plus and minus 15% and
control that the above mentioned voltages are still
within 5%.
8.2 O̲U̲T̲P̲U̲T̲ ̲T̲E̲S̲T̲
Connect the pulse-generator to the input A8 and adjust
the generator to supply 600 Hz square wave plus/minus
2.2V amplitude.
Connect an oscilloscope between ground and the test-points
mentioned in the Incoming Inspection Log.
Measure the output amplitude to be within 5.5V to
6.5V (11Vpp - 13Vpp).
Measure the risetime to be:
a) VERSION 1: 80 usec plus/minus 20%.
b) VERSION 2: 10 usec plus/minus 20%.
