This format is used to prepare comments to be sent
to other local CAMPS terminals. It includes interactive
procedures. Reference should also be made to Figs.
10a and 10b.
10.1 F̲O̲R̲M̲A̲T̲ ̲L̲I̲N̲E̲ ̲A̲
cm1(cr)(EOL)
The system shall respond to the sequence cm1 (cr) when
the terminal is in rest mode, by conditioning itself
to follow the protocol for preparation of an internal
message for transmission to other CAMPS terminal(s).
10.2 F̲O̲R̲M̲A̲T̲ ̲L̲I̲N̲E̲S̲ ̲B̲,̲C̲,̲D̲,̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲E̲
These format lines shall be composed and be subject
to the same procedures as the corresponding format
lines of Format A (see Sections 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, and
2.5). The procedure shall continue with format line
F.
10.3 F̲O̲R̲M̲A̲T̲ ̲L̲I̲N̲E̲ ̲F̲
ACT(sp)(c1)(cr)(EOL)(c2)(cr)(EOL)...(cn)(cr)(EOL)(cr)
(EOL)
The line contains the designators of the "ACTION" staff
cell(s) to which the comment is to be transmitted.
The system shall transmit the appropriate part of
this format line and await operator response.
c1 to cn: Three letter groups.
The procedure with respect to this entry shall be as
described in Section 2.7. If a valid entry (cr) is
obtained the procedure shall continue with format line
G. The default sequence shall have a system log entry.
10.4 F̲O̲R̲M̲A̲T̲ ̲L̲I̲N̲E̲ ̲G̲
INFO(sp)(aj)(cr)(EOL)(ck)(cr)(EOL)...(cn)(cr)(EOL)(cr)(EOL)
This line contains the designator of the "INFORMATION"
staff cells to which the comment is to be transmitted.
The system shall transmit the appropriate part of
this format line and await operator response.
cj to cn: Three letter groups.
The procedure with respect to this entry shall be as
described in Section 2.7, but limited to staff cells
served by the system. The default sequence shall have
a system log entry.
If a valid entry (cr) is obtained, it shall be checked
that address components (staff cells) have been specified
in format lines F or G and, if not, shall transmit
format line 04 and return to format line F. If staff
cells have been specified, the procedure shall continue
with format line H. After 5 invalid attempts, the
lines P and M shall be displayed and the terminal in
question shall return to rest mode. An entry shall
be made in the system log.
10.5 F̲O̲R̲M̲A̲T̲ ̲L̲I̲N̲E̲ ̲H̲
TEXT(sp)(v5)(cr)(EOL)...(v5contd)(end-of-text)(EOL)
The system shall transmit the appropriate part of this
format line and await the entry by the operator.
v5: Unstructured narrative text. This may extend
over several printing lines and will be terminated
by the operator using the "end-of-text" character or
sequence. The system shall then transmit format line
I and continue with format line J. If no text has
been entered, the procedure shall continue with the
default sequence below.
10.5.2 D̲e̲f̲a̲u̲l̲t̲ ̲S̲e̲q̲u̲e̲n̲c̲e̲
The system shall transmit format line R and return
to format line H. If no text is entered on five successive
occasions, the system shall output the format line

shall be made in the system log.
10.6 F̲O̲R̲M̲A̲T̲ ̲L̲I̲N̲E̲ ̲J̲
CLEAN(sp)COPY?(sp)(r)(cr)(EOL)
The system shall transmit the first part of this format
line and await response from the operator.
10.6.1 r̲ ̲-̲ ̲y̲e̲s̲ ̲o̲r̲ ̲n̲o̲
If the operator responds with no, the procedure shall
continue with format line K. If the operator responds
with yes, the system shall retransmit format lines
A to I of this message, including the entries composed
by the operator and corrections made on entry following
format line K.
10.6.2 D̲e̲f̲a̲u̲l̲t̲ ̲S̲e̲q̲u̲e̲n̲c̲e̲
If a valid response is not entered by the operator,
the system shall transmit format line 06 and await
a further entry. Format line 06 shall be repeated
after each invalid entry, and if a valid response is
not obtained after five attempts by the operator, the
system shall transmit format line P and M and return
to rest mode with respect to the terminal. It shall
be possible to recommence the preparation of the comment
from the same point by use of Format G3 by the operator
(see Section 12). A system log entry is required.
10.7 F̲O̲R̲M̲A̲T̲ ̲L̲I̲N̲E̲ ̲K̲
CORRECTIONS?(sp)(r)(cr)(EOL)
The system shall transmit the first part of this format
line and then await the response of the operator.
10.7.1 r̲ ̲-̲ ̲y̲e̲s̲ ̲o̲r̲ ̲n̲o̲

continue with the correction procedures as described
in Section 31 and followed by format line J. If the
operator responds with no, the procedure shall continue
with format line L.
10.7.2 D̲e̲f̲a̲u̲l̲t̲ ̲S̲e̲q̲u̲e̲n̲c̲e̲
When the operator responds with an invalid entry, the
procedure shall continue with the default sequence
described in Section 10.6.2 a system log entry may
be required.
10.8 F̲O̲R̲M̲A̲T̲ ̲L̲I̲N̲E̲ ̲L̲
TRANSMIT?(sp)(r)(cr)(EOL)
The system shall transmit the first part of this format
line and await operator response.
10.8.1 r̲ ̲-̲ ̲y̲e̲s̲ ̲o̲r̲ ̲n̲o̲
If the operator responds with a valid entry, the system
shall transmit format line M and return to rest mode
with respect to that terminal. If the response is
yes, the system shall, in addition, initiate the transmission
of the comment in the format described in Section 11
to the nominated staff cells. If this response is
no, the system shall hold the comment until instructed
to proceed using Format G3 (see Section 12). The drafter
shall be periodically notified of such comments which
are withheld (see Section 21 .
10.8.2 D̲e̲f̲a̲u̲l̲t̲ ̲S̲e̲q̲u̲e̲n̲c̲e̲
