This testgroup will give a verification of the DAMOS
Fault Handling functions. In general the Fault Handling
mechanism consists of:
a) error detection
b) error reporting
The error reporting facility provides a standard interface
for sending error reports via an error synchronization
element.
The error detection facilities are provided by H/W
as well as S/W. S/W detected errors which cannot be
handled by the S/W unit itself are, as well as H/W
detected errors, reported via the error reporting facility.
The test shall consist of a simulation of the following
types of errors:
a) timer action
b) page faults
c) illegal instructions
d) memory parity error
e) device timeout
f) memory timeout
g) protection failure
h) privilege violation
Further the test shall contain examples of S/W initiated
error reporting.
5.4.2.2 T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲C̲o̲n̲t̲r̲o̲l̲
The test is controlled by execution of testprograms
and H/W manipulation. Each of the H/W detectable errortypes
as well as S/W detected error reporting shall be simulated.
