3.1 T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲P̲U̲R̲P̲O̲S̲E̲
The purpose of the Factory Acceptance Test is to verify
that all H/W comprising an integrated CRT configuration
fulfils the functions requirements as stated in the
SDS.
The functional requirements which can be verified by
test are subject to Factory Acceptance Test.
3.2 R̲E̲Q̲U̲I̲R̲E̲M̲E̲N̲T̲S̲
With reference to chapter 2, the functional requirements
to be verified by test/demonstration are described
in the SDS in:
3.2.1.1 Main Site Configuration
3.2.1.2 Remote Site Configuration
3.2.3 Interface capability
The functional requirements are divided into the following
capabilities to be verified by the FAT:
1) I̲n̲t̲e̲r̲f̲a̲c̲e̲ ̲t̲o̲ ̲C̲A̲M̲P̲S̲ ̲T̲D̲X̲-̲B̲u̲s̲
The ability to connect the CRT Main Site equipment
to a TDX bus (simulating CAMPS TDX buses) and thus
obtain communication with terminals connected to
the Remote Site Equipment via the multiplexed link,
shall be verified.
2) I̲n̲t̲e̲r̲f̲a̲c̲e̲ ̲t̲o̲ ̲V̲D̲U̲s̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲M̲S̲P̲s̲
The ability to connect VDUs and/or MSPs to the
V24 channels on remote site corresponding to the
CRT-LTUXs shall be tested.
3) A̲u̲x̲i̲l̲i̲a̲r̲y̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲O̲C̲R̲ ̲C̲h̲a̲n̲n̲e̲l̲s̲
The possibility of performing communication on
the auxiliary V24 channels (the channels normally
connected to CAMPS expansion LTUXs) shall be demonstrated.
The same applies to the channel reserved for the
future positioning of an OCR. Throughout this test
specification and procedure, this channel is treated
and nominated as an auxiliary channel
4) S̲t̲a̲t̲i̲s̲t̲i̲c̲a̲l̲ ̲M̲u̲l̲t̲i̲p̲l̲e̲x̲e̲r̲ ̲C̲o̲n̲t̲r̲o̲l̲ ̲F̲u̲n̲c̲t̲i̲o̲n̲s̲
This test shall verify the ability of the Statistical
Multiplexer to:
a) perform traffic flow control to overcome a
data peak load effect
b) recover from a transmission error on the mux-line.
5) I̲n̲t̲e̲r̲f̲a̲c̲e̲ ̲t̲o̲ ̲C̲r̲y̲p̲t̲o̲/̲M̲o̲d̲e̲m̲
Provided the cryptos and modems are available,
the ability to perform the mux-line communication
via a Crypto/Modem link shall be demonstrated.
3.3 T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲M̲E̲T̲H̲O̲D̲S̲ ̲A̲N̲D̲ ̲C̲O̲N̲S̲T̲R̲A̲I̲N̲T̲S̲
The functional characteristics of the CRT H/W will
be checked by aid of a Test Drive System executing
the necessary test drive software. The verification
of the requirements is accomplished by successful execution
of the test drive software.
3.3.1 T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲D̲r̲i̲v̲e̲ ̲S̲y̲s̲t̲e̲m̲
A special Test Drive System will be set up to simulate
the interface to CAMPS via the TDX Bus.
The Test Drive System is based on a CR80S computer
system with interface to a single TDX-BUS. The TDX-Controller
is also part of the Test Drive System. For a detailed
description of the Test Drive System, refer to Appendix
A.
3.3.2 T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲C̲o̲n̲s̲t̲r̲a̲i̲n̲t̲s̲
1) As the Test Drive System only will support a single
TDX-Bus, the selection of active TDX-Bus for the
CRT system will be performed manually by having
the Mode select switch on the front panel of the
BSM-X in position Manual.
2) The firmware used in the LTUX-Ss under test is
a preliminary version.
3.4 T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲O̲B̲J̲E̲C̲T̲ ̲I̲D̲E̲N̲T̲I̲F̲I̲C̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲
Each set of Remote Site equipment together with the
associated Main Site equipment forms a H/W configuration,
in the following referred to as a site configuration.
The test verifying the interface to CAMPS TDX-bus,
Crypto/Modem and terminals, and the ability of the
Stat. Mux. to perform traffic flow control will be
conducted for each individual site configuration.
The tests to verify the communication on the Auxiliary
channels and the ability of Statistical Multiplexer
to recover from transmission errors will only be conducted
to a single site configuration.
3.5 S̲U̲P̲P̲O̲R̲T̲I̲N̲G̲ ̲E̲Q̲U̲I̲P̲M̲E̲N̲T̲
The Test Drive system is described in Appendix A.
The Terminal Equipment is described in Appendix B.
The Interface Equipmnt is described in Appendix C.
3.6 T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲D̲E̲S̲C̲R̲I̲P̲T̲I̲O̲N̲
3.6.1 T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲C̲o̲n̲f̲i̲g̲u̲r̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲ ̲B̲a̲s̲e̲l̲i̲n̲e̲s̲

3.6.2 T̲e̲s̲t̲g̲r̲o̲u̲p̲ ̲D̲e̲s̲c̲r̲i̲p̲t̲i̲o̲n̲s̲
The tests to be performed at the FAT are divided in
2 testgroups. Within each testgroup, the wiring of
the CRT equipment and the nubmer of connected VDUs
and MSPs is not changed.
3.6.2.1 T̲e̲s̲t̲g̲r̲o̲u̲p̲ ̲1̲
The tests performed in this testgroup will give a verification
of the interface to the TDX-bus and to the number of
terminals which will communicate with the CRT-LTUXs
(ref. CRT/SDS/001) the interface to Crypto/Modem and
the ability of the Stat. Mux. to perform flow control
and to multiplex/demultiplex 8 V24 channels. 6 VDUs
and 2 MSPs will be used for connection to the remote
site equipment. For all the VDUs it shall be verified
that data can be transferred to and from the VDU. For
the MSPs, data will only be transmitted to the MSP.
It is verified that all data are transmitted to/from
the terminals even in a peak load situation. To be
able to support the auxillary V24 channels, an additional
LTUX will be used together with the main site equipment,
for sites where only one LTUX is provided. For sites
where more than one LTUX is provided, the LTUX not
subject to test will be used as supporting equipment.
a) T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲C̲o̲n̲t̲r̲o̲l̲
The tests are initiated on the terminal attached
to the test drive system. The test program controls
the execution of the test.
b) I̲n̲p̲u̲t̲ ̲D̲a̲t̲a̲
Input data is supplied by the test drive system.
c) I̲n̲p̲u̲t̲ ̲C̲o̲m̲m̲a̲n̲d̲s̲
The test drive system will supply the commands,
necessary to control the terminals.
d) O̲u̲t̲p̲u̲t̲ ̲D̲a̲t̲a̲
Output data to the terminals will be visualized
on the terminals. Data returned from a VDU will
be compared with the expected data in the test
drive system.
e) T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲S̲t̲a̲t̲u̲s̲
The current Test Status will be printed on the
terminal attached to the test drive system.
3.6.2.2 T̲e̲s̲t̲g̲r̲o̲u̲p̲ ̲2̲
The tests performed in this testgroup will give a verification
of the ability of the Statistical Multiplexer to recover
from a transmission error. By a short disconnection
of the mux-line it is verified that the Stat. Mux.
can recover from a transmission error.
a) T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲C̲o̲n̲t̲r̲o̲l̲
The tests are initiated on the terminal attached
to the test drive system. The test program controls
the execution of the test.
b) I̲n̲p̲u̲t̲ ̲D̲a̲t̲a̲
Input data is supplied by the test drive system.
c) I̲n̲p̲u̲t̲ ̲C̲o̲m̲m̲a̲n̲d̲s̲

on the terminals. Data returned from a VDU will
be compared with the expected data in the test
drive system.
e) T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲S̲t̲a̲t̲u̲s̲

4.1 T̲E̲S̲T̲G̲R̲O̲U̲P̲ ̲1̲
The tests within this testgroup are performed for each
set of Remote Site equipment together with its associated
Main Site equipment.
Several CRT H/W capabilities are demonstrated by the
single tests, due to the configuration.
With reference to the SDS, the following capabilities
of the Main Site Configuration (SDS para. 3.2.1.1)
are demonstrated.
1) Point a: Connection to TDX bus
Reason: The Test Drive System is connected
via a TDX bus.
2) Point b and c1: Channel multiplexing of 8 V24 channels.
Reason: The 8 V24 channels are transmited
on a single mux-line.
3) Point c3: Traffic flow control
Reason: The amount of data transmitted
from the LTUX, if traffic flow
control was not performed, exceeds
the amount of data which can be
transmitted on the mux-line or
buffered in the Stat. Mux.
The following capabilities of the Remote Site Configuration
(SDS para 3.2.1.2) are demonstrated:
1) Point b: Channel demultiplexing of 8 V24
channels.
Reason: Data received on the single mux-line
are transmitted to 8 terminals.
The following Interface Capabilities (SDS para. 3.2.3)
are demonstrated:
1) VDUs with OPTO-interface
Reason: 4 VDUs with opto interface are
connected to the Remote Site Equipment.
2) VDUs and MSPs with V28 interface
Reason: 2 VDUs and 2 MSPs are connected
to the auxillary channels at Remote
Site.
3) Auxillary channels
Reason: A supporting LTUX supplies data
to the auxillary channels at Main
Site and Terminals are connected
at Remote Site.
4) Crypto/Modem
Reason: The crypto is used for he mux-line
communication, if available.
