CAMPS WATCHDOG, REQUIREMENT REVIEW
…02……02…CAMPS
MINUTES OF MEETING, 801205
Participants: GB, TK, OE, FC, SRA, FH, BHB, BHJ, SVO,
LP
Copy to: GJ, JPR, FAH, FE, KNN
1 The CAMPS WATCHDOG DESIGN NOTE (CPS/TCN/017) was reviewed.
Attached to these minutes is a new edition of CPS/TCN/017
revised as per:
a) Appendix to CPS/TCN/017 (BHB/801126)
b) Agreed changes at review meeting
The changes are marked.
Figures will be changed, when action items are closed.

2.1 R̲e̲f̲.̲ ̲F̲i̲g̲.̲ ̲1̲.̲1̲
FH Action The feasibility of operating the Floppy disk by the
(due 12/12) VDU connected to the WD shall be investigated.
2.2 R̲e̲f̲.̲ ̲F̲i̲g̲.̲ ̲1̲.̲1̲
The Watch Dog panel controller is not used as all switch-operation
performed via the CCIS has back-up switches in the
crates.
This back-up strategy was accepted and the implementations
are discussed below.
2.3 R̲e̲f̲.̲ ̲1̲.̲1̲.̲2̲ ̲b̲)̲
Comments to manually operated Initial Bite (IBITE):
2.3.1 P̲U̲
Master Clear is activated by switch on MAP-module (conditioned
"Maintenance mode" switch is activated.
2.3.2 C̲U̲
Due to the dualized bus of the CU, a general master
clear for all modules in the crate is not applicable.
A command for initialization is given to individual
modules of the CU by the I/O-Bus. The modules will
then perform IBITE.
IBITE is performed on power up as well.
2.3.3 T̲D̲X̲-̲C̲r̲a̲t̲e̲s̲
TK informed us that TDX-ctrl and LTUX-S had no implemented
IBITE-procedure by now, but the modules were prepared
for IBITE.
The IBITE can be activated in two ways:
a) By power-up
b) By command via the Bus
GB confirms
action (due It is a requirement for CAMPS that the IBITE is
15/12) implemented on TDX CTRL and LTUX-S.
2.4 R̲e̲f̲.̲ ̲3̲.̲3̲.̲1̲ ̲D̲
Wired-or monitoring are not included in recent de-
GB action sign. GB supplies the functional specification of
(due 15/12) the "Power-up-procedure" to CAMPS. The discussions
on the monitoring concept will then be concluded.
2.5 R̲e̲f̲ ̲3̲.̲2̲
2.5.1 CAMPS team emphasized the requirement for the abili-
FC action ty to switch off the CU-modules, individually by

functional
reasoning)
(due 15/12)
GB action GB supplies specifications for "disable-concept" in
(due 15/12) order to conclude discussion.
2.5.2 GB informed us that the ownership LED's was included
in recent design.
2.5.3 GB informed us that each CIA performs a power voltage
supervision. When the Power supply of the bas is below
a threshold, the CIA closes the bus and indicates the
status to the PU.
2.6 R̲e̲f̲.̲ ̲3̲.̲3̲
2.6.1 TK informed us that the 5 TDX-ctrl status monitor signals
are not supported by recent standard ctrl firmware.
They are implemented in H/W as general
GB checks output parts, and might be used as a part of the
(due 12/12) application.
2.6.2 IBITE can be activated by switching the power of the
TDX-crate off/on.
2.6.3 LEDs are provided on the front panels of TDX-CTRL
GB checks and LTUX-S to monitor IBITE-performance.
(due 15/12)
2.7 R̲e̲f̲.̲ ̲3̲.̲4̲
2.7.1 GB will produce a preventive maintenance concept
GB action for 80D-Blower. The possibilities and needs for Blo-
(due 15/12) wer supervision via WD will then be concluded.
2.7.2 It is a CAMPS requirement (CPS/210/SYS/001, sect. 3.4.3.1)
that "an alarm indication will be given, where the
environmental temperature reaches a value, which will
require intervention of supervisory personnel."
BHB Action An input on the CCA's of the 80D-crates may be reserved
for thermo-switch input. This will be specified dependent
of Blower supervision concept.
2.8 Product spec. for WD will be released prior to
GB Action 1/1-81.
2.9 S̲w̲i̲t̲c̲h̲e̲s̲
2.9.1 R̲e̲f̲ ̲3̲.̲1̲ ̲(̲P̲U̲)̲
a) Maintenance mode switch is on MAP-front panel
b) Master clear switch is on MAP front panel
GB Action c) Disconnect PU in MIA/TIA. Switch for manual
(due 15/12) operation on which module?
GB Action d) Indications for "Manual" transmitted to WD (a)
(due 15/12) and (c) above. GB provides concept.
2.9.2 R̲e̲f̲ ̲3̲.̲2̲ ̲(̲C̲U̲)̲
a) Bus disable switches, see section 2.5 above.
GB Action b) Indication for "Manual" from switches on a)
(due 15/12) above.
2.10 P̲U̲ ̲P̲o̲w̲e̲r̲ ̲S̲u̲p̲e̲r̲v̲i̲s̲i̲o̲n̲
GB informed us that a "power-failure-interrupt" is
provided in the PU, when DC-power-levels are below
detector thresholds.
The interrupt may be used for "controlled power down".
2.11 The LTU used in the WD is exact the same type as normal
LTUs.
2.12 Connection of CCB to WD. GB checks that CCB is designed
for connection to connector on WCA-front panel.
2.13 R̲e̲f̲.̲ ̲4̲.̲1̲
GB checks Communication speed at min 9.6 Kbits
(due 15/12)
3 The contents of sect. 4 was not fully discussed at
the meeting.
