1̲ ̲ ̲S̲C̲O̲P̲E̲
Based on references 2.1 and 2.2 a design of the expansion
of the CAMPS with the remote terminals has been worked
out. The equipment break down is presented in Appendix
A, where it is compared to the equipment list of references
2.1 and 2.2.
2̲ ̲ ̲A̲P̲P̲L̲I̲C̲A̲B̲L̲E̲ ̲D̲O̲C̲U̲M̲E̲N̲T̲S̲/̲R̲E̲F̲E̲R̲E̲N̲C̲E̲S̲

3̲ ̲ ̲G̲E̲N̲E̲R̲A̲L̲ ̲D̲E̲S̲C̲R̲I̲P̲T̲I̲O̲N̲
The equipment matrix (Appendix A page 10) is based
on:
a) Remote Terminal, Main Location equipment is placed
in a separate TEMPEST-rack.
b) Items requested in reference 2.1 and not used in
the sites are places as spares.

4.1 T̲E̲M̲P̲E̲S̲T̲-̲R̲A̲C̲K̲S̲
4.1.1 The marked main site racks in Appendix A page 12 indicates
that the design (reference 2.2) of the main site racks
D, E, F leave place for inclusion of remote terminal,
main location equipment.
The installation of an extra TEMPEST-rack may thus
not be required.
4.1.2 In the main sites n̲o̲t̲ marked in Appendix A page 12,
additional TEMPEST-racks have to be added to the line
termination racks D, E, F.
4.1.3 The site designs (from site surveys) should be checked
carefully to assure that the required space for additional
TEMPEST-racks can be provided.
Special attention should be paid to PROTO and UK AIR.
4.2 T̲H̲E̲ ̲O̲P̲T̲O̲-̲C̲A̲B̲L̲E̲ ̲D̲E̲S̲I̲G̲N̲
The opto-cable design for remote connections, Appendix
A page 9, is the CR interpretation of reference 2.1.
CR has not mentioned this concept in the proposals.
Comments:
4.2.1 Cost for establishing a modem-link from main to remote
sites:
4.2.1.1 O̲P̲T̲O̲-̲M̲o̲d̲e̲m̲ ̲L̲i̲n̲k̲ (max. 2400 Baud)
- two opto-modem assemblies are needed:
2 x opto crate = 2 x 2.220 Dkr = 4.440 Dkr
2 x opto power supply = 2 x 15.698 Dkr = 31.396 Dkr
2 x opto mux/demux
transceiver 2 x 11.873 Dkr = 2̲3̲.̲7̲4̲6̲ ̲D̲k̲r̲
59.582 Dkr
- opto cable:
connectors = 400 Dkr/pair
cable (dual) = 55 Dkr/m
4.2.1.2 "̲E̲l̲e̲c̲t̲r̲i̲c̲a̲l̲"̲-̲M̲o̲d̲e̲m̲ ̲L̲i̲n̲k̲ ̲(max. 2400 Baud)
- two modem assemblies are needed:
2 x modem = 2 x 17.834 Dkr = 35.668
Dkr
cable = ?
4.2.2 Identical design on all sites is recommended (Electrical
modem).
4.3 T̲E̲R̲M̲I̲N̲A̲L̲ ̲C̲O̲N̲N̲E̲C̲T̲I̲O̲N̲S̲
SHAPE has asked CR to evaluate the opto-versus the
V24/V28-connection to terminals in the remote sites.
The two design concepts are shown on page 8 and 9 in
Appendix A.
Comments:
4.3.1 V̲2̲4̲/̲V̲2̲8̲-̲L̲i̲n̲k̲s̲
Cost of establishing the first V24/V28-link to one
terminal, designed to meet the security requirements
applicable for CAMPS main-contract:
1 x LTUX crate = 1 x 14.227 Dkr = 14.227
Dkr
1 x Power supply = 1 x 15.698 Dkr = 15.698
Dkr
1 x Filter box = 1 x 13.500 Dkr = 13.500
Dkr
2 x V24(L) adaptors = 2 x 11.000 Dkr = 22.000
Dkr
1 x V24 cable = ?
̲ ̲ ̲
̲ ̲ ̲ ̲
̲ ̲ ̲
65.425
Dkr
Cost of an additional channel (up to a total of 8)
2 x V24(L) adaptors = 2 x 11.000 Dkr = 22.000
Dkr
1 x V24 Cable = ?
4.3.2 O̲p̲t̲o̲-̲L̲i̲n̲k̲s̲
Cost of the first opto-link to a standard terminal
(V24/V28 - I/F):
1 x Opto crate has been mounted
1 x Opto power supply on all remote sites =
0
2 x Opto mux/demux
transceivers = 2 x 11.873 Dkr = 23.746
Dkr
cable = 400 Dkr/pair + 55 Dkr/m
Cost of an additional opto-link (up to a total of 8)
2 x opto mux/demux transceiver = 23.746
Dkr
cable = 400 Dkr/pair + 55 Dkr/m

p. 8 and 9: The marks the items which are n̲o̲t̲
supplied by CR.
p. 10 and 12: The Main site #'s are according to CR
H/W standard.
The equipment list #'s on top of the
matrix are referring to the unit #'s
p. 11.
The numbers in the matrix describe the
number of units needed in the CR design
for each site.
p. 11 The Total Equipment List shows all the
units delivered by CR for the remote
terminals.
The difference-column shows the extra
units needed to perform the CR design.
The 1 unit- and total-prices are
the ones reference 2.1.
The 2 unit- and total-prices show
the cost of the CR design.
