This document applies to the test of version 01 release
01 of the Protocol Converter Maintenance Controller
(SGI) package.
The following figures obtained from the directory
***** a *PC ̲LIB*PC.D*SGI.D*LINK.D*V0101.D
may be used for identification.
MAIN module:
o PROGRAM SIZE: 243
o PROCESS SIZE: 413
BOOTLOAD module:
o PROGRAM SIZE: 241
o PROCESS SIZE: 581
The two modules are concatenated using SYSGEN to form
a module replacing the ordinary bootloaders in the
2k word PROM area of the CPU-SCM.
PROM checksums are #0F4A, #B3D6, and #22F8 for PROM's
at coordinates D20, B20, and D19. PROM generation is
described in Appendix A.
The Three PROMS's are mounted on the CPU-SCM, part
number 4.04157-01 as shown below.

PC crate equipped with the following modules:
One CPU-SCM single bus, CR8002M. SCM PROM's are 1622-11,
1620-11, and 1621-11 containing LSbytes, MSbytes and
parity for the SGI software.
One 128 kW RAM, CR8016M, page 0 and 1
CR8013M 64k EPROM, page 2.
One DELTA 7260TC Tempest VDU, version V2.1D.
One TEXAS INSTRUMENTS printer, omni 800, model 840
monitored from the VDU keyboard.
The VDU is connected to the SCM module via a V24 cable.

3.1 T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲S̲O̲F̲T̲W̲A̲R̲E̲ ̲P̲R̲E̲P̲A̲R̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲
Follow the procedure given in Appendix A or in the
Text File:
***** a *PC ̲LIB*PC.D*MAC.D*TEST.D*TEST ̲SPEC.T in order to
obtain a set of three 2716 EPROM's with the SGI software.
Mount the PROM's D20, B20, and D19 using the PROM names
to identify their position on the CPU-SCM board.
3.2 V̲E̲R̲I̲F̲I̲C̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲ ̲O̲F̲ ̲T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲R̲E̲S̲U̲L̲T̲S̲
In case of errors or emergency actions, one of the
following strings may be output by SGI:
** ERROR DURING EPROM BOOTLOAD
** PRESETTING RAM PARITY
** UNEXPECTED CAUSE CODE IN PARITY SETTING ROUTINE
** BUFFER CLEARING ERROR, PAGE = 1
** EMERGENCY XXXX/YYYY
If "EMERGENCY" is output, XXXX and YYYY should contain
the base of the process causing emergency, and the
emergency cause code.
3.3 T̲E̲S̲T̲ ̲S̲E̲Q̲U̲E̲N̲C̲E̲ ̲A̲N̲D̲ ̲E̲X̲P̲E̲C̲T̲E̲D̲ ̲R̲E̲S̲U̲L̲T̲S̲
Each of the following tables identify a test case consisting
of a set of test steps for verification of each of
the SGI functions under test.
4. C̲O̲N̲C̲L̲U̲S̲I̲O̲N̲
The SGI was originally intended to be a part of the
Maintenance Controller but since the MAC could not
be held in the 2k SCM PROM it was decided to segregate
the RAM initialization and buffer clearing procedures
from the MAC and implement these functions in the SGI.
MAC is now implemented in the CR8013M EPROM module.
The test results of section 3 and appendix B shows
that SGI fulfills the buffer clearing requirement,
and that SGI will react reasonably to detectable hardware
errors, such as parity errors in the CR8013 EPROM.
Cf. Reference 4, section 2.2.7a).

test was run under QA supervision at a later date.
