As requested by SHAPE, Christian Rovsing A/S hereby
submit a firm fixed price proposal for CAMPS power
stabilizers.
CAMPS System Requirements Specification (CPS/210/SYS/0001)
defines requirements for power input voltage and frequency:
a. Voltage: Nominal Value 380/220V AC
Tolerances: +10%/-15%
(except UKAIR where nominal value is
405/240V AC)
Frequency: Nominal Value: 50 Hz
Tolerances: +10/-10%
b. Exemptions: For the 3 disc drives of each main
site equipment the requirements are:
Voltage: Nominal Value 380/220V AC
Tolerances: +6%/-10%
Frequency: Nominal Value: 50 Hz
Tolerances: +0,5 Hz/-1.0 Hz
This ECP proposes to introduce a set of voltage/ frequency
stabilizers in the power lines to the disc drives.
These stabilizers will, when operated with power specifications
as stated in a above provide power input to the disc
drives in accordance with the specifications stated
in b above. With the stabilizers inserted, the power
input voltage and frequency requirements will be as
stated in a above.

The voltage and frequency specifications for the power
input to the CAMPS equipment are
a. Voltage: Nominal Value 380/220V AC
Tolerances: +10%/-15%

b. Exemptions: For the 3 disc drives of each main

Voltage/Frequency stabilizers are inserted on the power
lines to adapt the Disc Drivers (specified in b above)
to the Power Input (specified in a above).
The Disc Drivers are redundant elements of the equipment.
The Power input concept shall support this redundancy.
This is achieved by introducing a separate stabilizer
unit for each of the 3 Disc-Drives.
The Concept is shown in principle on drawing 801113-1.
b̲.̲ ̲ ̲P̲h̲y̲s̲i̲c̲a̲l̲ ̲L̲a̲y̲o̲u̲t̲
As shown on drawing 801113-1 the 3 stabilizer units
are placed in a separate rack.
The Power lines to each stabilizer unit are run from
the filtered power input though the power duct. The
stabilized Power lines are run from each stabilizer
to a Disc Drive.
Max. dimensions of the Stabilizer Rack are shown on
drawing 801113-2.
Option: The discussions on whether the computer and
Line Racks will be placed in a shielded enclosure or
EMI-shilded Racks have not yet been closed.
If the EMI-rack Solution is selected RF-filters may
be necessary, when entering the EMI-shield of the racks.
The option is dependent of the concept of power line
filtering for the CAMPS-room.

c2) Power Output:
The stabilizer unit is able to supply the disc
drive with sufficient and adequate power during
start-up and normal operation.
c3) Physical Dimensions.
The 3 stabilizer units will be contained within
the Stabilizer Rack (drawing 801113-1).
c4) Availability.
MTBF better than 10.000 hours MTTR better than
1 hour.
c5) Heat Dissipation.
The heat generated by the stabilizers is dependent
on the selected unit.

a) The proposed change allows the total CAMPS Site
equipment to be operated within the same Power
Input Specifications.
5.4 O̲T̲H̲E̲R̲ ̲A̲F̲F̲E̲C̲T̲E̲D̲ ̲A̲R̲E̲A̲S̲
The Proposed change adds the following equipment to
be placed in the CAMPS room:
a) Stabilizer Rack
b) Power Ducting
For each CAMPS room the impact of these new equipments
to the room lay-out shall be evaluated.
