4.2      P̲A̲C̲K̲A̲G̲E̲ ̲S̲P̲E̲C̲I̲F̲I̲C̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲S̲

         In the following subsections software packages are
         specified.

         Software units are described using a Program Design
         Language (PDL).

         Programs specifie in this PDL, also called pseudo code
         programs, are very similar to programs written in a
         high order machine independent language as for instance
         PASCAL, the difference being that PDL allows use of
         informal plain English statements as long as the sructure
         of the program is kept formal. Data are described by
         PASCAL-like structured types.



4.2.1    C̲o̲m̲m̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲I̲n̲t̲e̲r̲p̲r̲e̲t̲e̲r̲ ̲(̲C̲I̲)̲



4.2.1.1  F̲u̲n̲c̲t̲i̲o̲n̲a̲l̲ ̲S̲p̲e̲c̲i̲f̲i̲c̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲

         CI performs the following tasks:

         a)  Read a command from the VDU and check for 
             …08…reak/attention…08…. Echo the line if requested.

         b)  Check to see if the command keyword(s) matches
             the legal keywords. If not, classify the command
             as …08…unknown…08…. Check whether the keyword is legal
             in the current system mode. If not, classify the

         c)  Read the parameters relevant for the command indicated
             by the keyword. If an illegal parameter has been
             entered or is missing, the command is classified
