The purpose of this document is:
a) to identify:
1) the test object
2) the requirements to be verified
3) the system functions to be exercised
b) to define:
1) the test methods and constraints
2) the test evaluation criteria
c) to describe:

Section 2 of this document contains a general overall
Test Specification. In this section the system functions
to be tested are grouped into a number of test groups.
Each test group contains functions which appropriately
are tested together.
Section 3 contains Test Descriptions and Procedures
for each inidividual test group.
Para. 3.x.1 identifies the functions to be tested in
test group no. x.
Para. 3.x.2 describes Test Control for test group no.
x.
Para 3.x.3 describes the procedures for verification
of each of the identified functions in para. 3.x.1.
Each test is numbered by: test group no./function identification.
The sequence in which the test groups and their related
test procedures are arranged in the document has been
chosen to give a close correlation to the sequence
in which the requirements are stated in the SRS.
The sequence in which the test procedures will be executed
will not necessarily be the same as the sequence in
which they are arranged in the document. Some tests
require other tests executed as prerequisites.
Therefore, a scenario describing the test sequence
will be elaborated prior to test execution.
1.5 T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲P̲r̲o̲c̲e̲d̲u̲r̲e̲ ̲F̲o̲r̲m̲s̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲N̲o̲t̲a̲t̲i̲o̲n̲
All test procedures contained in section 3 are described
on the forms shown in fig. 1.5-1, Test Overview, and
fig. 1.5-2, Test Steps.
For each CAMPS function to be verified the Test Overview
form is used to identify the test cases required. Each
identified test case is detailed described on the Test
Steps form.
The Test Steps form contains the detailed step by step
procedure for execution of the test cases. The procedure
for each test case is described by the information
in the columns of the Test Steps form:
- Case step no.
- Test station
- Action
- Expected result
Case step no. identifies the step in the appropriate
test.
Test station identifies the SHAPE site terminal no.
from which the test is controlled, or on which the
expected output is presented.
Action describes the neccessary action required to
control the test. The notation:
#COMMAND# SION #ENTER#
is used to describe the following action:
1: press "COMMAND"-key
2: type "SION"
3: press "ENTER"-key
i.e.
a) #XXXX# denotes activation of functional key XXXX.
b) All 4-letter sequences used as substitution for
"SION" in above example are either user- or supervisor
command codes.
Expected result describes the expected results from
execution of the described test action.

The overall test activity contained in this test is
divided into 12 testgroups.
In each testgroup a set of related functions will be
verified.
On the Function/Test Matrix shown on the following
pages is given an overview of the contents of the individual
testgroups.

2.2.1 S̲y̲s̲t̲e̲m̲ ̲T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲C̲o̲n̲d̲i̲t̲i̲o̲n̲s̲
The test will be conducted on the CAMPS installed on
the first site (SHAPE). CAMPS shall be operated by
SHAPE operational staff under supervision of CR engineers.
Verification of functions relating to traffic on external
channels will require means for local operation of
these channels for traffic generation and reception.
2.2.2 E̲x̲t̲e̲n̲d̲ ̲o̲f̲ ̲S̲y̲s̲t̲e̲m̲ ̲T̲e̲s̲t̲
All specified functions shall be verified.
2.2.3 D̲a̲t̲a̲ ̲R̲e̲c̲o̲r̲d̲i̲n̲g̲
Except for the CAMPS specified functions no external
data recording will be performed during test execution.
2.2.4 S̲y̲s̲t̲e̲m̲ ̲T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲C̲o̲n̲s̲t̲r̲a̲i̲n̲t̲s̲
Execution of this test will not be performed under
operational environment conditions, and therefore this
test will not provide any verification of throughput
and timing requirements.

2.3.1 T̲e̲s̲t̲ ̲D̲a̲t̲a̲ ̲C̲r̲i̲t̲e̲r̲i̲a̲
Evaluation of the test results will be performed by
comparison of system output to expected output.
