.TH VAR2ASCII 1 8/25/86 .CM 1 .SH "NAME" var2ascii \- takes a var file and outputs it in ascii format .SH "SYNOPSIS" var2ascii [format [input.var [output.ascii]]] .SH "DESCRIPTION" This program is designed to output in ascii format a double precision var file (though since graytone is automatically converted to double it can also handle graytone). The output is 2 dimensions followed by the pixels in row order followed by the comments. The first argument is the format string used to print out the strings. If it is left out var2ascii must be used as a pipe and it uses a default format. If only the format is given var2ascii is a pipe. Otherwise giving the input file only with output to stdout. Otherwise the behavior is as one would expect. This program can facilitate passing floating point images between machines with incompatible floating point formats. .SH "SEE ALSO" var(3) var(5) vartools(3) ascii2var(1) .SH "DIAGNOSTICS" prints error message and dumps core .SH "BUGS" Hmmmm.... ,
