YID-SLOTS - The Jewish Name Slot Machine (c) 1987 by Bob Glickstein Permission is hereby granted to freely distribute and modify this software, provided that 1) The above copyright notice appears on all files and in the introduction to the program, and 2) A notice is appended to the copyright identifying any modifications to the original The author waives all responsibility for everything. Yid-slots is a slot-machine-like game in which the windows display not apples, oranges and cherries, but portions of Jewish names. There are three windows; first names, last-name prefixes and last-name suffixes. Certain combinations pay off according to the file yid-names. For example, Bob Glick stein pays a very great deal indeed. The game is invoked simply as "yid-slots"; a single optional argument names an alternative file to yid-names. Modify the Makefile to have proper destinations for the GAMEFILE (the executable) and the NAMEFILE (the data file). Modify the file yid-slots.h to contain a definition for the macro FDEFAULT; it should be the same as the Makefile's NAMEFILE macro. A bug in this program may require you to use a LineFeed (^J) frather than a NewLine (^M) when entering lines of data into the program (namely, your bets). The rest of the program should be self-explanatory. Have loads-o-fun. Bob Glickstein Information Technology Center Carnegie Mellon University bobg@andrew.cmu.edu
