This is the ANU NEWS V5.4 for VMS.

The files in this directory are:

	README - This file
	news_v54.sav - VMS backup save set containing executables
	news_v54_doc.sav - VMS backup save set containing documentation
	news_v54_src.sav - VMS backup save set containing source
	fixrec.exe - Program to fix blocksize of a file in place
	fixrec.c - Source for fixrec
	build_news.com - Replacement for munged file in saveset

To get the complete distribution you will have to FTP all these files
to your local machine. 
	**Be sure to use binary mode for the savesets and executables!**

You can use the provided "fixrec" program to set the block size of
all the savesets to be 8192.  To do this just:
	$ fixrec :== $DUA0:[USER]fixrec
	$ fixrec news_v54.sav 8192
	$ fixrec news_v54_doc.sav 8192
	$ fixrec news_v54_src.sav 8192

The extra copy of BUILD_NEWS.COM is provided because the one on the
saveset was damaged on Geoff Huston's machine.  This is a working
replacement.
