Version information =================== TeX 3.14 (in ./TeX3.14/tex) (plain.tex version 3.0, in ./TeX3.14/TeXmacros) LaTeX 2.09 (release of 24 May 1989, modified 15 March 1990 to allow use of both TeX 2 and 3; see ./TeX3.14/LaTeX/lplain.tex) SliTeX 2.09 (in ./TeX3.14/LaTeX/LaTeXslitex) (no official versions of lplain and splain for TeX 3.0+ as yet. Older versions work, but don't offer full functionality of the changes that came into being with TeX 3.0.) BibTeX 0.99c (program in ./TeX3.14/bibtex) (remainder in ./TeX3.14/BibTeX.inputs) AMSTeX 2.0 (in ./ams/amstex) AMSLaTeX 1.0 (in ./ams/amslatex) metafont 2.7 (in ./TeX3.14/mf) (plain.mf version 2.0) tangle 4.2 (in ./TeX3.14/web) weave 4.2 (in ./TeX3.14/web) (webmac.tex version 4.0) dvitype 3.4 (in ./TeX3.14/texware) pltotf 3.4 (in ./TeX3.14/texware) tftopl 3.1 (in ./TeX3.14/texware) gftodvi 3.0 (in ./TeX3.14/mfware) gftopk 2.3 (in ./TeX3.14/mfware) gftype 3.1 (in ./TeX3.14/mfware) mft 2.0 (in ./TeX3.14/mfware) pktogf 1.0 (in ./TeX3.14/fontutil) pktype 2.2 (in ./TeX3.14/fontutil) and the new virtual font programs VFtoVP 1.2 (in ./TeX3.14/fontutil) VPtoVF 1.3 (in ./TeX3.14/fontutil) plus dvicopy 1.2 (in ./TeX3.14/dviutil) There are also these pxl related programs, but we strongly advise against their continued use: pktopx 2.3, pxtopk 2.3 (in ./Unsupported/MFpxl/CMFpxlware). Fonts in mf source format. The full Computer Modern as released from Stanford. Utility fonts for character proofs etc. (not made with cmbase.mf). LaTeX and SliTeX fonts. AMS fonts--cyrillic, euler, extracm, and symbol--thanks to the American Mathematical Society. Fonts in pk format. The Computer Modern and LaTeX fonts minimally necessary to run plain and lplain in 120, 240, and 300 dpi series. The pk files for the principal LaTeX symbol fonts are in a separate list. The 300 dpi fonts are provided for write-black devices (CanonCX) in directories labeled "pk300," and for write-white devices (RicohFourZeroEightZero) in directories labeled "pk300w." Mode information is given in gf special strings just preceding the postamble in each file, and can be read with the Unix command "strings." AMS fonts--most of the cyrillic, euler, extracm, and special symbols in 300 and 300w dpi series. To get more fonts, use Metafont and the utilities in MFware, whose names are pretty self-evident. A really elegant set of precisely sized fonts can be made up with the utilities in ./TeX3.14/TeXcontrib/sauter. There are scripts for some needed LaTeX fonts in ./TeX3.14/LaTeX and ./TeX3.14/LaTeX/LaTeXslitex. (Some of the smallest point sizes at 120 dpi put too much of a strain on Metafont. You could correct the bad characters with fonttool in ./TeX3.14/METAFONT/MFcontrib.) ==================================== E O F ==========================================
