READ.ME AMERICAN MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY August 1990 AMS-LaTeX Version 1.0 Distribution On your system, create a directory named amslatex, and three subdirectories named doc, fontsel, and inputs. Then, copy the contents of the corresponding subdirectories from this archive into those subdirectories. The installation instructions for AMS-LaTeX 1.0 are in the LaTeX document amsltinst.tex, in the doc subdirectory. Run this file through LaTeX and print the output to learn how to install AMS-LaTeX on your system. The User's Guide for AMS-LaTeX 1.0 is in the LaTeX document amslatex.tex, also in the doc subdirectory. The User's Guide can be typeset using either your existing LaTeX format file or the new LaTeX format file which you will create during the installation.
