ascii2var \- A program to translate an ascii file to a floating point image

ascii2var [input.ascii [output.var]]
.SH "DESCRIPTION"
This is the program that takes a file in ascii format and returns a
var(5) file.
The ascii format is a pair of dimensions (length followed
by width) and then the pixels followed by comments.
If no arguments
it is a pipe.
Otherwise it can take an input file and send to stdout
or it can take both an input and an output file.
This program can facilitate passing floating point images
between machines with incompatible floating point formats.
