November 14.1984 Dear Tom. Thank you for the wonderful pictures you sent me for now some time ago, I have finally got time to organize my own. Thereby I was reminded of the days we spent with you before we left Canada. We all wish to thank you and Kae for the way you threated us. I have found some pictures of my own that might be of interest to you and include them, the one of the Ultralight might be good enough to interest your neighbour and I shall be happy to make more copies. Our journey home was remarkably easy in spite of the mountain of luggage that we had to carry. To our great surprise we did not have to pay overweight and our reservations on Royal Canadian class gave us quite a comfortable trip. Coming home was quite a treat since our neighbours had "broken in" and placed Welcome-_ home signs all over the place and even prepared lunch and left it in the fridge, we had no problems feeling at home again. The girls have started school and have settled in very easily. Ulla is thinking of going back already next summer and is looking for a job that can make it possible to earn enough money for the ticket. Lise has taken her gymnastics training very seriously, the team she is on are touring around giving performances at all kinds of arrangements. Morten has got a new bicycle and is beco_ ming the horror of the neighbourhood mainly because he often looses control of the bike an stumbles into things. Coming home to the department was no great experience every_ thing was still going in the same groove and I had not been away long enough that I was forgotten. As a result a load of work was waiting for me and courses were planned as well. I have not been able to do much about the ODE solver until recently when I did some work on discontinuities using G-stops. I have sent copies to Ken and Wayne and include one for you. My courses have turned out very well this term, I have had 17 students in ODE`s and they seem to be working well some of them have been producing inter_ polation formulae for different kinds of Runge Kutta methods that may become useful. One or two are interested in doing some testing too. Denmark has dressed in autumn coulors now and they are a lot less spectacular than those of Algonquin park but when the leaves are blowing in the wind and there is a special smell in the woods it feels good to be back home again. I am going to attend the Dahlquist meeting in Stockholm in January and I hope to see you then. Best Wishes from all of us Morten,Lise,Ulla,Kirsten and Per
