/[^:]*	- path name of group home directory
%

The group home directory is where the nu (new user) program puts
the home directories of users in that group. For example, suppose
you have a user group "users" with group home /usr/usr. Then a user
in group "users" with login name "jensen" would have home directory
    /usr/usr/jensen.

The name /usr/usr was used traditionally in Unix. Nowadays one sees
things such as /users (HP-UX) or /we (ENIX). The important thing
is that the directory is located in a file system with lots of space.
Normally one mounts a whole disk partition on it. Different groups
usually have different group homes (with different access permissions)
but there's no need for them to be in different file systems.
