.SH NAME
uvers \- print kernel version
.SH SYNOPSIS
.B uvers
.B [file] ...
.br
.SH DESCRIPTION
.I Uvers
prints the kernel's version string on the standard output.
This string contains the date built,
the login id of the person who built the kernel,
and the kernel's version number.
If no files are given, the version of the currently running kernel is found
(this requires read permission on /dev/kmem). If any files are given, the
version string is extracted from each file.
