INTRODUCTION↲ ↲ ┆84┆The TTY-emulator release 4.0 is equipped with a number ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄of new features in order to support the RC791 ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄lineselector and the CIRCUIT II Communication Interface.↲ ↲ ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ ↓ ┆b0┆┆a1┆2. LINESELECTOR↲ ↲ ┆84┆A RC791 Lineselector may be connected to the printer ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄port (LINE II), on the RC855/RC851 and thereby up to 8 ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄terminals can share e.g. a printer.↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ↲ ┆84┆The cable that connects the RC855/RC851 to the ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄lineselector must be one of the following types:↲ ↲ ┆a1┆ Sales No. RC No. Length ↲ ┆a1┆ MF003S CBL892 5 m ↲ ┆a1┆ MF003M CBL893 12 m ↲ ┆a1┆ MF003L CBL894 25 m ↲ ↲ ┆84┆The cable between the lineselector and the printer is ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄the cable supplied with the printer.↲ ↲ ┆84┆The lineselector in the TTY environment can only handle ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄printers, because the reserved line is released ca. 0.5 ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄seconds after the transmission from the RC855/RC851 is ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄stopped.↲ ↲ ┆b0┆Operation:↲ ↲ ┆84┆Whenever the operator wants to make a printout by using ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄the printkey for slave print or the PF10 key for hard ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄copy the TTY emulator will reserve the appropriate line ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄and the printing begins, if the printer is ready.↲ ↲ ┆84┆The selection of printer (port A or B on the lineselec- ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄tor is done in setup mode. In setup mode a new parameter ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄called "printer line" determines the selection on the ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄lineselector. The parameter has two values 'A' and 'B'. ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄Line A is the initial value.↲ ↲ ┆84┆If no lineselector is connected the parameter has no ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄meaning.↲ ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ ↓ ┆b0┆┆a1┆3. CIRCUIT II/LINE I↲ ↲ ┆84┆The circuit II communication interface is a new feature ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄to be used in conjunction with the ITC-controller on ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄RC3922.↲ ↲ ┆84┆In the setup menu the operator can use the parameter ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄"host line select" to determine whether line I or ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄circuit II is used as communication line. If circuit II ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄is selected the parameter "secondary address II" gives ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄the terminals address number which can be variated ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄between 0 and 31. If line I is selected the secondary ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄address parameter has no meaning, but a new parameter ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄called "flow control" determinds whether a XON/XOFF ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄protocol is to be used or not. the XON/XOFF (also called ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄DC1/DC3) flow control takes care that the communication ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄line is not overloaded.↲ ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ ↓ ┆b0┆┆a1┆4. OTHER NEW FEATURES↲ ↲ ┆84┆Two new functions has been added; delete line and insert ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄line.↲ ↲ ↲ ┆b0┆┆a1┆4.1 Insert Line↲ ↲ ┆84┆Insert line (ASCII S0H, Code 01) inserts a blank line at ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄the cursor line and moves the previous cursor line and ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄rest of the picture one line down. The last line in the ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄display is lost. The cursor position is not affected.↲ ↲ ↲ ┆b0┆┆a1┆4.2 Delete Line↲ ↲ ┆84┆Delete line (ASCII STX, code 02) deletes the cursor line ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄and moves the rest of the picture one line up. The last ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄line in the picture is blanked and there is no affection ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄on the cursor position.↲ ↲ ┆84┆This function is different from the other delete line ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄(ASCII ENQ, code 05) which does not remove the actual ↓ ┆19┆┆89┆┄┄line but blanks it.↲ ┆1a┆┆1a┆ from theFCYCxRASENxQ4x-,WEx-,0BINIT ↲ ↲ -,CAS* := -,RFCYCxRASENx-,0BINIT ↲ ↲ ↲ ┆b0┆┆a1┆3.2.3 P
