The HELP facility in FSE consists of 4 "reference cards" in the form of menus
that can be displayed on the terminal. Each menu is a summary of the full
documentation that can be found in the user manual. The menus are activated by
entering the regular command HELP followed by one of the options IMMEDIATE,
MARGIN, REGULAR, or SHORTFORMS and pressing CR. To return to FSE from a menu
menu, simply type CR again.
HELP IMMEDIATE displays a summary of the immediate commands. Immediate commands
are activated by a single or a sequence of control characters and are executed
as soon as a sequence is recognized.
HELP MARGIN displays a summary of the margin commands. Margin commands are
single or double letter mnemonics entered in the margin of the lines to be
affected. They are executed by typing CR.
HELP REGULAR displays a summary of the regular commands. Regular commands are
entered on the command line and are executed by pressing CR.
HELP SHORTFORMS displays a list of abbreviations for regular commands. The list
shows, for example, that HELP SHORTFORMS can be abbreviated HLP SH.
