The maintenance plan will be changed in accordance
with this structure. This will influence para 1.4
through para 2.2, but the contents will basically remain
unchanged.
8. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲2̲1̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲2̲.̲2̲.̲1̲.̲5̲
The following sentence will be added quote Note, that
parts lists for OEM and test equipment will be found
in their respective manuals unquote.
9. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲2̲2̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲2̲.̲2̲.̲2̲
The para will be reworded to quote As details within
the depot level repair have yet to be finalized, although
the general depot level philosophy is clear, the contents
of the technical descriptions will be evaluated later.
However unquote.
10. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲2̲4̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲2̲.̲3̲.̲2̲
CR suggests no change. Refer to meeting at AFCENT
on May 25th.
11. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲2̲6̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲2̲.̲3̲.̲3̲
During the visit at AFCENT, it was stated that the
usual turn-around time is 1-2 weeks. This is so short
that it will not influence on the total amount of spares.
Consequently, an analysis of the turn-around time
will not be necessary. Refer also to para 4.4.
12. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲2̲7̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲2̲.̲3̲.̲4̲
The following will be added quote Software failure
reporting will be covered by the same failure reporting
system. The failure reporting form (refer to fig.
2.3.4-1) will be used as a cover sheet, but additional
information may be enclosed.
13. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲5̲5̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲3̲.̲4̲.̲4̲
The following sentence will be added quote The modules
shall normally be tested in the OFF-line configuration
unquote.
14. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲5̲7̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲3̲.̲5̲.̲1̲
CR suggests no change. The suggested scenario will
be part of the troubleshooting tree in the maintenance
documentation.
15. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲5̲8̲,̲ ̲f̲i̲g̲.̲ ̲3̲.̲5̲-̲1̲
CR suggests no change. The decision that a specific
error is a software failure is usually a logical conclusion
based on the fact that a hardware error cannot be found.
At this point a memory dump may be requested and an
analysis performed.
To incorporate the demand for S/W troubleshooting fig.
3.5-1 will be implemented with a decision block after
the "dump memory" operation containing quote S/W failure
indicated? unquote. If yes, an exit block will be
indicated.
16a. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲6̲0̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲3̲.̲5̲.̲2̲
CR suggests no change. S/W failures cannot be isolated
to assemblies. See also response to item 15.
16b. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲6̲0̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲3̲.̲5̲.̲2̲
CR agrees that the log book should display the effective
downtime of the equipment. The logbook will be changed
to indicate the time-of-day when the equipment failed
and was restored respectively as an additional column
in the left hand side. The time-of-day to be filled
in will always appear in connection with an error print-out
at the maintenance position.
17. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲6̲2̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲3̲.̲5̲.̲2̲.̲2̲
The closing paranthesis is placed incorrect. The text
will be changed to quote (e.g. parity, instruction
type, memory location, etc.) unquote.
18. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲6̲9̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲3̲.̲5̲.̲2̲.̲7̲

eventually resulting in an error print-out at the maintenance
position unquote.
19. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲7̲2̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲3̲.̲5̲.̲6̲
Last sentence will be changed to quote When the equipment
returns to normal operation a time-of-day print-out
appears at the maintenance position. unquote.
20. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲7̲3̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲3̲.̲6̲.̲1̲
It is assumed that when appropriate, a copy of the
logbook is attached the failure report. The copy may
be photocopied or in handwriting.
21. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲8̲4̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲8̲5̲,̲ ̲f̲i̲g̲.̲ ̲6̲.̲3̲.̲3̲ ̲-̲ ̲1̲ ̲a̲n̲d̲ ̲2̲

up to 50 instructions unquote.
23. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲9̲3̲,̲ ̲f̲i̲g̲.̲ ̲6̲.̲5̲.̲3̲.̲1̲
CR suggests that the failure report is being used as
a cover sheet for documentation, but the methods of
requesting service must be decided by SHAPE.
24. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲7̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲6̲.̲5̲.̲2̲.̲2̲
Will be corrected as proposed.
25. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲9̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲1̲.̲3̲
Change Control Board is correct. Page 24 will be corrected.
26. P̲a̲g̲e̲ ̲1̲1̲,̲ ̲p̲a̲r̲a̲ ̲1̲.̲4̲

The general approach is that only one module can be
on extender board at a time.
36b. It is felt that with the present updates, the various
aspects of S/W maintenance has been integrated adequately
throughout in the maintenance plan.
