APPENDIX B1…01…***************…01……01…TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS…01…FOR V24/V28 (L/L)-ADAPTORS
T̲E̲C̲H̲N̲I̲C̲A̲L̲ ̲R̲E̲Q̲U̲I̲R̲E̲M̲E̲N̲T̲S̲ ̲A̲N̲D̲ ̲S̲P̲E̲C̲I̲F̲I̲C̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲S̲
The V24/V28 (L/L)-adaptors (in the following V28(L)-adaptors)
to be supplied under this contract shall meet the specifications
and requirements specified in this appendix.
1̲ ̲ ̲G̲E̲N̲E̲R̲A̲L̲ ̲S̲P̲E̲C̲I̲F̲I̲C̲A̲T̲I̲O̲N̲
The V28(L) adaptor converts standard CCITT V24/V28 signal levels
within a data channel to low level signals. The adaptors shall
be implemented on a PC-Board (CAMAC, 5U) to be placed in a 19
inch TDX-crate. The crate will be mounted within a EMI-rack-assembly,
which privides high shielding effectiveness against electromagnetic
emanation to the environments.
Fig. 1-1 to 1-8 defines racks, crate and module. Two versions
of the V24(L)-adaptor shall be implemented. The functional requirements
to the two versions are defined in section 3 of this appendix.
The circuit design shall be based on Interim Report No. 3 dated
May 1, 1981, prepared by ARC for CR.
A sample of the 5u-Camac modules (fig. 1-4) to be used for the
two versions will be delivered to ARC by CR A/S.
In case of inconsistency between fig. 1-4 and the model, the
latter shall take precedence.
The front panels for the two versions are designed by CR.
The mechanical items for the modules (front panel, runners,
etc.) are supplied by CR. ARC integrates the modules completely.
The cables leaving the V28(L)-adaptor modules will be led through
a Filter Box (see appendix B2 of this contract).
The signals leaving the Filter Box shall comply with the following
requirements:
a) All electrical interconnections for data between the
equipment will use low level keying systems, i.e. 6-0-6
volts at currents less than one milli-ampere. All the
remaining control lines should conform to CCITT Recommendation
V28.
b) MIL-STD-188C
The design shall allow the adaptors to drive cable
lengths up to 900 ft.
