	Package Description\r
	___________________\r
\r
	Real Time Pascal Compiler\r
	SW2114\r
	Release 2.7\r
	DANOSI\r
\r
\r
	Package Contents\r
\r
	- 1 diskette marked "Real Time Pascal Compiler, rel. 2.7"\r
	- 1 Reference Manual for\r
The Programming Language Real Time Pascal\r
	- 1 Real Time Pascal Compiler Reference Manual, PN: 99001333/2\r
	- 1 Package Description (this text)\r
\r
\r
	Requirements\r
\r
	SW2114 requires.\r
	- MS-DOS 3.3 (SW954001) rel. 1.0 or later\r
	  or\r
	- Concurrent DOS vers. 6.0 or later\r
The system may run under UNIX VPIX too.\r
\r
\r
	Installation\r
\r
The installation of SW2114 is performed by inserting\r
the diskette in a drive, selecting that drive and\r
	typing:\r
\r
			INST\r
\r
This batch job will provide a guide to installation\r
of the files on the disc onto a specific drive.\r
\r
The compiler will be installed in a directory\r
	called RTP.\r
\r
To be able to call the compiler from all directories\r
the path RTP must be included in the searchpath of\r
the operating system. This may be done by adding RTP\r
as parameter to the PATH command in the AUTOEXEC.BAT\r
file ( for CDOS: the STARTxyy.BAT file ).\r
\r
\r
	Changes since last release\r
\r
The extension of the objectfile is changed from .T35\r
	to .T22\r
\r
	Changes since release 2.5\r
\r
The predefined switches: compiler, RC5000, and PI3\r
have been replaced by: language, TA, and I86.\r
\r
The following bugs have been corrected\r
	since release 2.4:\r
	- Error in connection with local reference in a\r
	  forward declared routine\r
	- Error in the object code in connection with\r
	  empty case statement\r
	- Error in the object code when using packed\r
	  fields as value parameters\r
\r
\r
	Known Problems\r
\r
	Bound string type\r
When a formal value parameter is of a bound string type\r
(e.g. alfa), the actual parameter has to be string of\r
the same length, because the actual parameter is not\r
converted to a string of the same length as the\r
	formal parameter.\r
\r
	RC5000 MegaSwitch as target computer\r
	- Structured values of type packed array and packed\r
	  record are not implemented.\r
	- packed3502 is only implemented for types where the\r
components are either not crossing a byte boundary\r
	  or are of type INT16\r
\r
	Intel x86 as target computer\r
	- packed3502 is only implemented for types where the\r
components are either not crossing a byte boundary\r
	  or are of type integer\r
\r
	RC5000 Network Switch (RC3502) as target computer\r
	- Structured values are not implemented\r
	- Use of RC3502 interrupt handling is not\r
	  supported ( i.e. CHANNEL statements )\r
\r
\r
	Release Notes\r
	Memory Requirements for RTP\r
\r
		Code	143 Kbytes\r
		Data 31 -\r
		Stack 10 -\r
		Heap 60 -\r
		------------------\r
		Total	244 Kbytes\r
\r
Above figures are fixed except the heapsize,\r
which depends on the program compiled.\r
\r
The heap used for the internal name and symbol\r
table is not included in the above figures.\r
Per default the name and symbol table will\r
occupy all available heap (except the above 60 Kbytes)\r
if needed. Note it is possible for the user to\r
specify the maximum amount of heap the name and\r
	symbol table may occupy.\r
