Package Description\r
-------------------\r
\r
Real Time Pascal Compiler\r
SW2114\r
Release 2.14\r
DANOSI\r
\r
Package Contents\r
1 diskette marked "Real Time\r
Pascal Compiler, Rel. 2.14"\r
1 Reference Manual for\r
The Programming Language Real\r
Time Pascal\r
1 Real Time Pascal Compiler Re-\r
ference Manual, PN: 99001333/2\r
1 Package Description (this docu-\r
ment)\r
\r
Requirements\r
SW2114 requires:\r
MS-DOS 3.3 (SW954001) rel. 1.0\r
or later\r
or\r
Concurrent DOS vers. 6.0 or later \r
\r
The system may run under UNIX\r
VP/ix too.\r
\r
Installation\r
The installation of SW2114 is perfor-\r
med by inserting the diskette in a\r
drive, selecting that drive and\r
typing:- \r
\r
INST\r
\r
This batch job will provide a guide to\r
installation of the files on the disc\r
onto a specific drive.\r
\r
The compiler will be installed in a\r
directory called RTP.\r
\r
To be able to call the compiler from\r
all directories the path RTP must be\r
included in the searchpath of the\r
operating system. This may be done\r
by adding RTP as parameter to the\r
PATH command in the AUTOEXEC.-\r
BAT file ( for CDOS: the STARTxyy.-\r
BAT file ).\r
\r
\r
Changes since last release\r
The extension of the objectfile is\r
changed from .T35 to .T22\r
\r
Changes and corrections since relea-\r
se 2.6\r
\r
- Error in connection with index into\r
a string, rule066a.\r
- Error in code when loading add-\r
ress of a field of a type set.\r
- Error in code in assign when no\r
rangecheck ( TA).\r
- Error in get_argument.\r
- Error in connection with dynamic\r
records with types of length 0.\r
- Error in connection with IN.\r
- Error in megaload when adding\r
offset to addr when size = 2, 3 \r
for arrays (3502).\r
- Error when using pred and succ.\r
- Error when initialize array of array\r
with dynamic size.\r
\r
Changes since release 2.5\r
\r
The predefined switches: compiler,\r
RC5000, and PI3 have been replaced\r
by: language, TA, and I86.\r
\r
The following bugs have been cor-\r
rected since release 2.4:\r
\r
- Error in connection with local re-\r
ference in a forward declared\r
routine\r
- Error in the object code in connec-\r
tion with empty case statement\r
- Error in the object code when\r
using packed fields as value para-\r
meters\r
\r
\r
\r
Known Problems\r
Option CREATESIZE puts the crea-\r
tesize in inner programs if any.\r
\r
Wrong code when using routines\r
with formal value parameter of\r
a bound string type.\r
\r
Bound string type:\r
When a formal value parameter is of\r
a bound string type (e.g. alfa), the\r
actual parameter has to be string of\r
the same length, because the actual\r
parameter is not converted to a\r
string of the same length as the\r
formal parameter.\r
\r
RC5000 MegaSwitch as target com-\r
puter\r
- Structured values of type packed\r
array and packed record are not\r
implemented.\r
- packed3502 is only implemented\r
for types where the components\r
are either not crossing a byte\r
boundary or are of type INT16\r
\r
Intel x86 as target computer\r
- packed3502 is only implemented\r
for types where the components\r
are either not crossing a byte\r
boundary or are of type integer\r
\r
\r
RC5000 Network Switch (RC3502)\r
as target computer\r
- Structured values are not imple-\r
mented\r
- Use of RC3502 interrupt handling\r
is not supported ( i.e. CHANNEL\r
statements )\r
- Structured constant as array limits\r
is not implemented correct.\r
- Succ on a subrange, which limits\r
are given as process parameters\r
does not work correct.\r
- LOCKDATA of dynamic types\r
with packed array of bit are not\r
packed.\r
- There is no cleanup when exiting\r
routines with local declared re-\r
ferences and external specifica-\r
tions.\r
- Rangecheck is not performed at\r
v:= v + 1; when v is a subrange.\r
- Pointer type to the type itself is\r
not allowed.\r

Release Notes\r
Memory Requirements for RTP\r
\r
Code 143 K bytes\r
Data 31 -\r
Stack 10 -\r
Heap 60 -\r
-------------------------------\r
Total 244 K bytes\r
\r
Above figures are fixed except the\r
heapsize, which depends on the\r
program compiled.\r
\r
The heap used for the internal name\r
and symbol table is not included in\r
the above figures. Per default the\r
name and symbol table will occupy\r
all available heap (except the above\r
60 Kbytes) if needed. Note it is\r
possible for the user to specify the\r
maximum amount of heap the name\r
and symbol table may occupy.\r
