TextFile

[This file is ./ams/NOTE-for-users-of-UNIX-TeX.
It is intended for users of the UNIX TeX distribution.
 August 1990]

The AMS macros and fonts on this distribution tape
are from July 1990.

If it is important that your printout be visually
identical to material printed out under the older
AMSTeX, we recommend that you keep both the old and
the current AMS fonts on your system.

If you can imagine the possibility at some time,
of having to regenerate a document that must be
visually the same as one printed under the old AMSTeX,
we recommend that you archive the older fonts on your
system so that they will be available to you when such
a need arises.

The older fonts and the current fonts are not identical.

----------------------------------------------------------

The *.tfm files for AMSFonts 2.0 are in ./TeX3.0/TeXfonts.
If you have followed the steps in the ./TeX3.0/README file
for the installation of TeX, these fonts have already been
copied by you into your TEXFONTS environment.

Similarly, if you ran the ./TeX3.0/Install_INPUTS script
during the installation of TeX, the AMS macros are now in
your TEXINPUTS environment.
