TextFile

[This file is ./DVIware/crt-viewers/sunview/dvisun/NOTE.
It is written for users of the UNIX TeX distribution.
(February 1990)]

NOTE:

1.  The dvisun in this directory is meant to run under windows;
the man page for it is "dvisun.1."

If you do not have a windowing system, change directory to
../fullscreen, and use the dvisun there.

2. While this previewer is able to use 118 dpi fonts in pk format,
please note that it prefers to work with 120 dpi fonts in pk format.

If you do not have either set of these rastered fonts,
you will have to generate them in gf format via METAFONT,
and convert them to pk format via the texware utility gftopk.

    We recommend using pk120 fonts.

Where you place these fonts on your system is, of course, entirely
up to you. We recommend, however, that the TEXFONTS environment
be reserved for *.tfm font files only.

3. Check the Makefile:

Be sure the paths given suit your site.

-DFONTAREA= should match the path to the pk120 (or 118) fonts
           on your system.

4. Check the file dvisun.c:

line 40: FONTAREA should match the path to the pk120
(or 118) fonts on your system.

line 48: note that RESOLUTION is set at 120.
If you insist on working with pk118 fonts,
this value must be altered to 118.

5. Type "make dvisun."

4. Type "make install" to place it in your BINDIR environment.
